Anyone know how his brother's career panned out? Did he sign with Purdue? I forgot.

Fair point regarding medical history for Drue. The two reconstructed knees could be big concern. Medical exam at combine could be huge for Drue. But, if he comes out of the medical clean it’s very possible he gets picked before Coney.

With how good these guys are coming back from knee injuries nowadays...who knows.

Want him to succeed.

Tranquill's not playing in the Senior Bowl. At least I haven't seen him in there. Anyone know what happened?

I don’t really see it happening. Dru’s Injury history is going to really scare a few teams and rightfully so. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go 5th or later because of it. I personally think Coney is going to get drafted on the second day.

The knees aren’t a concern anymore and he’s proven that. Sprained ankles are common place. I have no clue if he will go ahead of Coney, but I don’t see his medical history being a big concern unless something is discovered in his physical.

Don’t know if he made any significant plays but I saw Drue out there. The camera pointed out his cheering section as well.

from NFL.com profile
Overview
Tranquill is a strong, tough football player who loves to play the game. What evaluators are going to see is a player who has below-average size, recovery athleticism, and man cover skills. He Might not get much bigger so he needs to gain the attention of general managers with explosive testing and then prove he can shine as a special teamer in order to secure a roster spot and make a living as a backup linebacker.

Strengths
Aggressive, physical mindset made transition from safety to linebacker much easier
Beach-body build with strong base and low center of gravity
Plays assignment-based football and is effective doing dirty work as run blitzer
Revs up motor from the first snap to the last and rarely lets off the gas
Improved ability to elude and work around head-on blocks
Stalks running backs with good patience and desired leverage to sideline
Uses strong hands and powerful upper body to jam and redirect tight ends headed into routes
Experienced and productive in kick and punt coverage

Weaknesses
Frame looks maxed out
Doesn't have the athletic traits to consistently recover from missteps
Stat sheets filled with too many missed tackles over last couple of seasons
Fearless taking on climbing blockers but lacks mass to hold his ground
Lacks speed and length to prevent runners from outpacing his pursuit to the corner
Man coverage more inconsistent than expected for a former safety
Slow to turn and find football and allows tight ends to separate from him out of breaks
Two separate ACL tears (each knee) will certainly draw attention from medical staffs

As much as I love everything about Drew, I think it’s going to be hard to land a roster spot and stick. I won’t be upset if he proves me wrong.

I disagree. At the very least, I think he’ll make a living on special teams.

tied for 9th in BJ (122), and 5th in VJ (37.5)
with 1st in bench, and 7th in 40, not to shabby.

doing drills now.

to add

6th in 3 cone
5th in 20 yard shuttle

60 yrd shuttle going on right now, but it looks like he's tracking well.

all in all, he's def better than average, top 10 in everything.

JMO......Like I said, I won’t be upset if he proves me wrong.

No worries man. I hope Drue proves you wrong and is a ten year starter in the league.

I’m in the minority with the following: I think Drue will get picked ahead of Coney, Drue will start on special teams for the first two years of his career and then become a solid NFL starter.

He just looked so much smaller than a lot of the guys in his group. A former safety I expected him to show up in agility drills.

Drue will get drafted. But don't feel bad for this kid if he doesn't make it the NFL. He's got a good life ahead of him.

Also, is his real first name Anthony? That's what is showing g on NFL Network ticker.

My reasoning is simply his size. He’s a tad undersized and may not be able to hold up to the pounding.
