Sapp in that update states that people have been neg. recruiting against bama saying that Eddie will hate it in the south and that it actually worked in Bama's favor. I don't like hearing that but the reason I bring it up is I am very interested to know who or what staff had been saying that

That's a stupid tactic that rarely works. Neg recruiting against anybody will backfire more often than not. Promote your own school. Tell them the things you have to offer. The kids will figure out the rest.

Most negative recruiting is not done straightforwardly. "USC's program is dirty" for example, would come out "Wow! I hope the kids that sign there don't have to deal with a bunch of tough NCAA sanctions, for the violations!" Inquiring after the health of a coach colleague, who a recruit has seen, when there are reports of health issues is another example. And head coaches', assistants', assistants', assistants are the ones who wallow in and sling the mud.

JSapp checked in with BamaOnLine and they don't think that A'Shawn Robinson's commitment will affect EV's decision. Bama wants and has room for both players, and there's some chance that A'Shawn may end up on offense.

Schrader said he is hearing EV to UCLA. This might be the west coast bias.... and he is butthurt:
UCLA will end up with a higher ranked class than USC, and will have a much larger class.

If you don't think ridiculous NCAA sanctions aren't hurting USC, think again.

I don't see how that's the case, considering it's not just Robinson, but also Dee Liner and Darius Paige are on their way to Tuscaloosa. That's 3 DT's. I highly doubt EV will go there considering they're already loaded up with DT's.

This might sound very bias but I don't see EV passing up very early playing time and elite academics especially when he has said numerous times that is what he wants in a school. I just don't see it but of course I could be wrong

Could the difference from the two sites be:

Mom= UCLA/ND
Dad=Bama/ND

Hopefully, Mom and Dad can meet on the common ground. Isn't that what marriage is all about?

I love your logic.

If it's the dead period, are we allowed to post about recruits? ;)

I think Jaylon needs to remind him what it was like to play along side him at the AA game. If I remember right EV was almost man-crushing on Jaylon's athleticism. Coaches may not be able to contact the players but unleash the recruiting prowess of Jaylon and I believe we get our man.

In my opinion this seems to be a race between ND and Bama. Lets hope moms words have a large impact on his decision

Also per TV Vanderdoes projected position is NG which is contrary to earlier reports

Idk if the coaches changed their mind 247 made a mistake either now or earlier

I've been told they are recruiting him at DE kind of like Tuitt spot with the ability to move inside.

I doubt he ends up at UCLA despite the reports of him leaning that way. Maybe when they all sit down as a family it ends up being the best "compromise" and that's what they settle on but I don't see it. The longer this has played out the more comfortable I think he is making the "best" choice instead of the "easy" one... and there isn't a single category where UCLA trumps 'Bama or ND except for proximity to home being driveable.

I really feel good about his recruitment. I will not be shocked if we do not get him, but I feel like he is Irish.

He really seems to fit the mold of IrishMob'13 and seemed to really hit it off with JS. I know he has said good things about all of his visits, but everything seemed to come together during his weekend in SB. I hope my gut is accurate on this one.

You're forgetting a few things bro -

#1 - weather. No idea if that affects EV but it does affect some (Ego Ferguson to name one).

#2 - comfortability w/ coaches - EV has built up a phenomenal relationship with the coaches at UCLA. When a recruit is calling YOU, then you're doing something right. I'm not sure he has the time to build up relationships with ND and Bama coaches (he eliminated ND pretty early on, so we weren't recruiting him as hard as other schools I'm sure).

#3 - comfortability w/ other commits - Let's face it, he has been around UCLA's commits more than ND's. Not as much as USC's obviously, but because of where he plays and the types of camps and All-Star games he's been to, he knows UCLA's guys probably more than ND's players. I know that from all reports though, he did get along great with the ellas while on the OV, so that's good.

Now, I could be off on all these things, but they could be factors in steering EV towards UCLA (especially #2)...
