I think there is a Dead Period that starts tonight at 12:00 and runs NSD? Can anyone verify?

I also think a recruit can call a coach/school but not vice--versa?

But can a coach attend a recruit's sister's freshman high school basketball game? That is the question.

I would have to say it must be pretty nice being Eddie Vanderdoes right now. He has his pick of 5 very distinct and positive options for a football scholarship. I mean, hate SC as much as you want, it is a pretty attractive destination. UCLA, Tuscaloosa, U Dub and Notre Dame. They are all very attractive for different reasons and they are all dying to have him. Pretty sweet, tough decision if you ask me.

I am not worried b/c I am absolutely sure Notre Dame is going to receive very careful consideration and if ND is a fit he comes here...if not best of luck. All the staff can do is get a kid's attention show him what we are all about and let him decide.

@adamgorney: Eddie Vanderdoes isn't talking but many people believe #UCLA and #NotreDame have a slight edge in his recruitment.

Since he lives in northern California any chance EV is really sad that the 49ers lost?

If he's not talking, is he at least pantomiming?

Those are the two most disturbing pictures I have ever seen in one post on Irish Envy.

Sapp is hearing from West Cost sources that its a Bama/ND battle, with possibly UCLA hanging in there. USC is almost definitely out as they have "burnt too many bridges".

Interesting that rivals says UCLA/ND, and 247 says Bama/ ND.

GCF or something like that...

I'm really not sure what I think about how this one ends up. I realize, like everyone else outside of the Vanderdoes family, I'm purely speculating, but I can't help but feel ND has the edge based on EV's remarks about how important academics was going to be. Now, that all comes down to how serious he was/is about that statement. His football talent will shine just about anywhere he chooses, especially Bama and ND, but only one of those two schools can offer him a high quality degree to go with it. In the end, it comes down to academics here. His decision will show us how important they truly are to him.

We at least we are the only team being mentioned twice.

Pretty good news to hold onto between now and signing day. I'll take it.

Sapp gives me some hope in this fight. This class is awesome as is but with EV it is taken to the next stratosphere! Here's to hoping for the next 2 days!

Could the difference from the two sites be:

Mom= UCLA/ND
Dad=Bama/ND

Hopefully, Mom and Dad can meet on the common ground. Isn't that what marriage is all about?

Sapp in that update states that people have been neg. recruiting against bama saying that Eddie will hate it in the south and that it actually worked in Bama's favor. I don't like hearing that but the reason I bring it up is I am very interested to know who or what staff had been saying that

I am willing to bet an awful lot it wasn't ours.

My guess is it wasn't ND. Pretty sure I've read in the past that our staff does not neg. recruit. They simply talk up ND and let it sell itself. Most of these kids can see right through neg. recruiting and imo, it does more harm than good anyways.

That is standard left coast recruiting just replace the word south with east, or mid-west if it applies. Hayden used to even admit that (back in his day.)

My guess would be USC recruits or other cal kids trying to sway him away. I doubt any coach would set themselves up like that.

Wonder of it is not so much coaching staffs but others that are "in his ear?"
