Interesting that he is 25th on the team in total tackles with just 4, but 3 of those were tackles for loss which puts him 2nd on the team in that category. No doubt his playing time will get ramped up fast if he proves he can be sound on his assignments.

Anybody been following him closely in Jacksonville? Not a good sign when the team that drafts you in the 4th round cuts you in the middle of the season the following year. Better than K Russell in KC, but still not a good look.

Looks like getting Marcel Dareus pushed him off the depth chart.

Yeah, but they were ready to completely cut ties with a 4th round pick from the year before? I wonder why not even try and trade him for a 7th round pick a few weeks ago at the deadline? Perhaps they did, but there were no suitors?

It seemed to come as a surprise to a couple people on Twitter. Sheldon was working as a rotational guy. I did see one play this year where he got a TFL towards the end of a close game, but that's it.

Maybe they couldn't get anything for him. Day is an undersized backup interior lineman after all. And the Jags fans whose responses I read were mixed on whether he was holding his own in the run game.

I can honestly say, I've never seen more shock from a fanbase over someone getting cut. It was 95% WTF!... 5% Who cares?... 2% Good! And he was trending hard for a non-star which led me to believe there was nothing leaking out bad about him.

Glad he's with The Fighting Irish of the NFL.

He played really well for the Jags. I think it had more to do with roster math than anything. The jags are beat up at WR and the o line so they had to call up some people from the practice squad, and take Dede of IR. He played well when he got snaps, the Jags d line is one of the deepest units in the NFL.

he didn't choose though did he? the 9ers claimed him and got him because of their draft position right?
