Big Lou missed ND's victory over UK last night because he was busy doing this:

Next Vince Wilfork for sure.
Absolutely. He has all of qualities of Wilfork and will be severely missed if we don't get another big time immovable force in the middle. He takes up two guys on every play and still manages to be productive!!

Our chances next year are tremendous even with the current uncertainty about the O-Line. With Big Lou anchoring, and Grace filling in for Manti surrounded by veterans, and Day filling in for KLM, and any of about six guys filling in for Zeke, this defense will be #1 in the country and cover a lot of Offensive struggles --- even there though, IF the O-Line is "just good", we're really loaded around the rest of the offense.

Thank goodness for the Big Man. Rock of the Team.

Indeed! That just brightened my morning after reading the Redfield and AQM threads. :)

Our line is gonna be scary next year...

I think Day will become an every down player. And Jarron Jones could be a huge wildcard for us too.

Everybody but Wood is coming back next year, (Of that I am not sure, so don't assume he is leaving, based upon what I have said). The big thing is they are all infected to excel even with Manti leaving. PLEASE NOTE: The Leadership skills that Irish Chocolate is developing. He will be the man!

“I really never got an award in college yet,” Nix said. “This is the start. Next year I’m trying to be like Manti. I’m trying to get like seven or eight of these awards, so it’s the start.”

Well theres that....

I'd hate to lose him, but if he gets a decent draft grade and we beat Bama, then would he stick around? It doesn't even seem like he's been here long enough to go!

If he eats up that interior of the Bama OLine in the NCG his stock will skyrocket.

Beating Bama won't factor into the equation IMO. I would personally be tempted with any grade in the 1st or 2nd round. That is entirely too much money to pass up. Luckily I'm not him, and he may feel differently about the situation from a dollars and cents standpoint.

Yeah. It's hard. He's got a big family, from a rough part of town, that paycheck could mean a lot to him. On the other hand, he won't have graduated, and he could probably raise his draft stock some with another year. Guy's really only been a starter for one season.

Yes he would stay around. He promised his mother he would get his degree. He sees the advantages of which way his life is going. I really believe that starting what he finished is number one.

I would bet he and his mother will have a heart to heart and decide what's best for him, and his family. Obviously we all want him to stay but our motives are for the most part predicated on keeping a great talent on our football team.

We can talk about the importance of finishing his degree but this is life, and the quality of it with his family.

I'm going to enjoy the next game, then just hope.
