He can get his degree even if he leaves.

FYI Kelly encourages all draft eligible players to get evaluated and then weigh the pros/cons of coming back or going pro.
Not one kid with a moderate draft grade who has decided to come back has regretted it so far:
-Floyd went from 3rd to high 1st.
-Manti went from 2nd to probably top 10.
-Eifert went from 3rd to probably late 1st.
If there is one truism for this staff it's that they develop players. Over the last couple years we have seen players make huge jumps as they stick around and buy in.
Well, get his degree and trying for football awards approx = staying for 2013
Officially coming back next year per BK!
Mr. Irish Chocalate,
Thank you, young man, for coming back and helping ND make another run at history. It takes courage to turn down all that cheese, and take the longer road. You already had my respect. Now you have my admiration. Thanks for doing things the right way, and having fun while you're doing it. Thanks for making me laugh, and signing up with ND when we had no coach. Your are truly Irish,,,, Chocalate. Go beat Bama
Yes he would stay around. He promised his mother he would get his degree. He sees the advantages of which way his life is going. I really believe that starting what he finished is number one.
"She called me every day like 'I can't wait to walk on the field with you for Senior Day.' In high school, she didn't get to do it with me. She barely made it to any of my games. She didn't do the Senior Day in high school and she cried. That was a big one for me."
Nix's mother, Stephanie Wingfield, desperately wanted to see her son honored on Senior Night at Raines High in 2009. She couldn't attend. She had to work a shift at a hospital cafeteria, because someone had to put food on the table. "She just had to work all the time," Nix said. "She couldn't afford to take off." So when her jumbo-sized son with a heart to match took the field that night, he did it alone. "I was the only person who walked on the field by myself," Nix said. "People were like, 'Where are his parents?' She didn't like stuff like that."
