Sometimes, as in war, strategy dictates a full out precise air attack before sending in the ground troops. Hit 'em with the bombs, then let the grunts loose to do their thing.

If we do ground and pound, I hope we keep the carries split between all of our RBs. We need fresh legs for (fuck) Michigan.

Since my friend's wedding is at a Protestant church, it is okay for me to have GameCast going on my phone, right?

They're practically giving away tickets to this game on StubHub. I don't think we're gonna sell this one out. Endzone tickets going for $45 and tickets in Section 9 and 10 (the two sections that are like the 40-50 yard lines on visitor side) have tix as cheap as $145.

Boring game, but I'd go if it weren't such a hassle getting there. Those things are CHEAP.

I know what you mean, but we probably already sold out. Stubhub is the secondary market. Won't make the stadium feel full, but the streak will stay alive.

Ya, I meant in regards to having a full stadium.

I know the Red Sox used to always spew nonsense about their sellout streak during the 2012 horrible Bobby V year. The park would be 2/3 full on a good night and they'd still claim a sellout.

Someone(s) will buy the remaining tickets in bulk at the last minute just to preserve the streak.

Not feeling all that great about ND winning by more than 23.5. Line only moved to 22 since the news but our wins for the season dropped to 7.5 from 8.5. Really would have liked to have that extra game to get in the money!

At least I was playing with house money when I put the bets in.

I think we've all seemed to forget one thing in the midst of the anticipation of the first game.

ND really needs to do a better job of scaling ticket prices to meet the demand. I like that they are charging more for better games but they really need to charge for different sections as well. Endzone uppers should be substantially less than everything else if you want to see Rice sell out.

Just looked for 4 out of curiosity, Row 50 on the goal line. Pretty damn good for game week. $70 isn't horrible either.

Hopefully the University goes easier on naked students than they do on academic cheaters. Will we have to vacate wins if he gets caught?

Given that we run a 4-2-5 defense and you outweigh our DL substantially, I suspect you will follow M State's example from last year's Liberty Bowl and run our butts off the field until you suck our dbacks in close before letting loose the bombs! Hopefully, we can be a little more competitive than we were in the bowl game. If the refs call it straight, it will help. They swallowed their whistles in the bowl (5 total flags on both teams combined).

Welcome to IE man!

Don't take this the wrong way but how come you are a Rice fan? Grow up in the area? Rice graduate? I am just curious and really hope you don't take it the wrong way.

'79 Rice grad. Your forum looked like a great place to find out about the upcoming game.

Good to have an owl on the forum, please give us some info on your team. Groups and players you are excited about, worried about, etc. It's always good to have someone from the other team on board

Driphus is something of an enigma. He led us to victory in the Armed Forces bowl 2 years ago. Last year he did so in the Kansas game, but was injured for most of the rest of the year. Great mobility, strong, but not terribly accurate arm.

Mobility is an issue.... Can you tell him to stand like a statue ? If you want an example just google Tommy Ress in the pocket.

Our RBs and TEs are awesome! Look out for Jordan Taylor. As an example of our TEs, look at Vance McDonald (SF) or Luke Willson (Seattle), both drafted in the same year.

Not much in the way of analysis there. New field, new unis, new DC, so... ND loses?

It's going to be a weird opener for Notre Dame. The grass is out, and Field Turf is in. Adidas uniforms are gone, and Under Armour is in. Defensive coordinator Bob Diaco and his perfect hair are gone, replaced by Brian VanGorder and his 3-4 scheme.

Diaco ran a 3-4. BvG's installed a 4-3 Under.
