Wouldn't go that far. Less than stellar production sure. Some of the problem is just inexperience. CB has improved his game but not enough to the point where ND can move TJ to the slot on a consistent basis. Robinson is obviously young and figuring things out. Fuller seems like he could be a playmaker in the slot, but also has the ability to play on the outside bc he can get deep. I personally dont see him as a middle of the field guy yet. I am surprised Onwualu has played a ton in 6 games and not got 1 ball thrown his way, that just hurts with tendencies. Prosise and Onwualu are in their first year of playing the position so there naturally wasnt going to be a ton of production, but Prosise potential is through the ceiling and that showed in the Spring. BK has said ND has lost bc of a combination of little things.....in Prosise case it seems like its a few things here and there that he hasnt grasped/mastered to get consistent PT. Not ready to write the kid off by any means, but he does need to make a step forward next year. Onwualu, Hunter, Fuller, Quick, McKenzie could all be on the roster next fall, so he has a lot of quality competition there. I hope they can figure a way to get him on the field bc he is a kid I think that can really make a diff given consistent PT. I see him as the Offensive Ben Councell, where hes a damn good player, waited his time, put in the work, and then may just get passed up by a younger player who is just makes plays.

But anyways, McKenzie would fit in just fine on the roster at ND in my opinion. At worst he would be someone explosive to take over for TJ on Punt Return, and GA3 on kick return.

Speaking of that, is McKenzie considered to have "elite" speed a la GA3, or moreso a lot shiftiness?

shiftiness and initial acceleration the way he looks on film, but i'm not sure about home run capability...quicker than fast you could say

nothing i have seen from BK/CM so far leads me to believe they are able to get production from anybody in the slot. Hoping next year we see something.

I said it on the previous page, but I will mention it again.

I don't think that he will play a true slot (Z-WR) position. I believe that we will use him as a hybrid RB like Danny Woodhead. We can call it slot, but it is really a different position all together.

he goes zero to sixty extremely fast....is it world class speed probably not...but it is his acceleration immediately which is amazing

If his academics are in order.. is everyone 100% sold we should take him?

Interesting question. I guess would depend on the scenario for myself. Hypothetically, what if we are Brent, Quick, JuJu, Brown going into January and Lazard wants in. Do you take Lazard or McKenzie?

Or various other scenarios. I don't necessarily seeing any of that being the case so I see him being in this class (all academics finalized of course).

he is someone we don't have! his skill set is something we need!!! we have big bodied wr's...if it's between those 2 for me McKenzie no brainer

I would add that McKenzie can play other positions as well (corner/PR/KORet)

I love McKenzie's explosiveness on offense, but when it's all said and done, I may like him on defense as a cover corner. We've got lots of young, talented wide receivers.

I am not in the boat saying we shouldn't take him. I am just pointing out there may be scenario's that could make him "on the ledge" guy.

I don't necessarily see those scenarios playing out, and if they do our class is going to be just fine.

I don't think he's an on the ledge guy. It sounds like the ledge guy would be Erik Brown.

Yeah Erik Brown would be the odd man out in my opinion, plus i dont think ND has really much of a shot for him anyways. I still believe ND gets Quick and McKenzie

FYI Mike Frank says he isn't visiting this weekend.

Apparently the reason why he can't visit is that the NCAA won't allow an OV if you don't have a test score. And he doesn't have a test score.

I understand why some continue to be optimistic, but his situation continues to remind me of the myriad of recruits who had work to do in the classroom and DIDN'T get it done. We'll hopefully know sooner rather than later if the test score hurdle has at least been cleared. Apparently will reschedule for Navy.

That seems weird. I don't know for sure, but I have to think numerous recruits have OV'd to schools without test scores. This has to be common.

Academic: Take the ACT or SAT if you haven’t already and check with your guidance counselor to confirm that you’re on track to graduate. Fill out the general applications for the universities you’re interested in and take campus tours of the top contenders to get a feel for the schools as a whole in addition to their athletic programs. You must send a college your transcript and ACT or SAT scores before they are allowed to invite you on an official recruiting visit so be sure to have your scores sent to your favorite schools and mail your transcript as soon as possible.

Isn't it uncommon for recruits (or any HS student) to wait until their senior year to take tests? I've always thought that students starting taking the ACT/SAT in their sophomore and latest junior years of HS.

For the 1st time taking it, probably. I took mine at the end of my junior year but I took it 2 more times my senior year to get a better score.
