Its going to be brisk and I don't think anyone owns a white or red ND jacket or sweatshirt. Well, maybe a white sweatshirt, but I still expect to see strictly blue, gold, or green.

I will be wearing green so no problem here. Not sure if I sit in section 36 or section 34. Going to put my 12yr son in the most ND friendly section. I'm thinking section 34. Thoughts anyone?

You and your son will have a great time sitting anywhere other than the student section. 90% of everyone you meet will treat you with the utmost respect. Enjoy Norman...go on Friday and check out the Switzer Center. The weather is supposed to be crappy, that will be the only bad part about your experience.

Of course they shouldn't wear white. It's after Labor Day.

Thanks for the info. I have heard from other people that this is great place and people, besides one here or there, are welcoming. We plan to leave Thurs at 9am get there late Thurs since it is about 14hrs. Friday check out the campus and take in as much as we can. We have no special pass to tailgate so any thoughts on a spot to park? I read online near the Lloyd Center it is free. That place get packed early? Also read that people will use their yard and driveways for a fee. Any info is appreciated.

Park anywhere around campus early and just mill around from tailgate to tailgate. I'd advise against parking at LNC, sounds like a good idea but waiting on buses to get back to your car after the game will take forever. Come in on W. Main St, take a right on Flood, Left on W. Symmes, right on Lahoma or take your next right on Chautauqua...park anywhere on these streets. It's a decent haul (3-4 blocks to campus) but it'll be an easy out. You'll be on the NW side of campus which feeds into Campus Corner, which is on Boyd street (intersects with Lahoma and Chautauqua) Just drive around and get a feel of the area. Traffic will be a nightmare if you wait to head over to campus on Saturday after 2pm. Are you staying in Norman or OKC?

Staying on the southside of OKC off I-35. I planned to leave for campus at noon or so.

I have to say that Oklahoma fans, on here, have been mostly pleasant and respectful. It's nice. Now out in the rest of the cold and bitter internet I've seen some very disrespectful and hateful Sooner fans.

Park near First Christian and First Baptist-there is a lot that charges $10. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium but you will go right through Campus Corner. Lots of beer, lots of food and lots of fans. Enjoy the atmosphere and definitely if you have the time check out the Switzer Center.

Like most schools with a winning football tradition, every fan base has their share of a-holes. I'll guarantee that while you're in town, people will wish you well and be friendly/respectful. Regardless of the game's outcome, if Notre Dame wins, our fans will be the first to congratulate you.
I live in SEC country and talk about some serious trash. Fans here are rude and down right disrespectful...and that's seen as accepted behavior.
Enjoy Norman/OKC and good luck! Boomer Sooner!
