Also in the comments...UGA guy saying "Uhh, Georgia is just behind Notre Dame in academics." Derp. I'm sure they are...yup...but even if they are somewhat close that doesn't change the fact they would be lowering the bar for the players by a good amount.
[EDIT] They're middle of the pack, not even the 2nd best school in the state. ND is 19th between Cornell, Rice, and USC.

The ranking distract from how far off UGA really is. None of the UGA people I’ve met in Atlanta have been serious about academics. Tech is a good state school. UGA is much less so.

If one takes the right classes with the right professors/instructors, one can receive an Ivy League education (however, considering what's going on at Yale, Harvard, et al, that doesn't mean what it used to) at practically any large state school. The biggest difference is going to be in your classmates. That's the ND difference. The students.
