OK, OK, I lied. I love bacon. I don't think I've ever had any Manischewitz, but I wouldn't rule it out. I prefer my bacon in slabs so I can slice it as thick or thin as I want. I strain and keep bacon fat for future use. Tasty, tasty, tasty!
Can I be given an IE plenary indulgence and returned to "Poster in Good Standing" status. I mean, I mean ... I 'fessed up, didn't I? And I am heartily sorry for having offended IE!
True story for BGIF: a year after I graduated I returned to witness friends at ND and SMC graduate. I bunked in with friends I'd shared a house with the year before. After a looooong night I woke up at the crack of noon feeling a bit peckish. I found what I thought were leftover mashed potatoes in the fridge. Using a trick I'd picked up from my mother, I mixed in an egg and coated the spuds in bread crumbs, heated up some bacon grease in a pan and proceeded to pan fry them.
It turns out that I'd breaded a lump of lard and fried it in bacon grease.
It made a tasty "soup" but didn't really sit well with my hungover stomach.
