If the rumors of Okwara to DE are true, we're now full at DE through 2014. Solomon or Holley would overload us. Assuming Solomon and Holley are still must take players, this complicates the numbers a bit.

Seems pretty obvious that some of the guys currently listed at DE will get moved to DT. None of us saw Schwenke or Springmann getting moved inside; who's the next to switch to DT?

Holley projects at NT for us per TJ

Blankenship, Trumbetti and Hayes to play on the strong side.

I don't think Hayes (DE/DT) projects the same as Blankenship and Trumbetti (CAT/DE)

This kid looks skinny at 235. One more year of high school and some time with Longo and this kid could put on 60-70 lbs of good weight and be a force.

Is this kid as attractive as his picture indicates? That's all I could think about after opening this thread.

TJ on II really likes Blankenship, explained why the staff liked him and also added the OU was making a strong push for him.

OU 247 thought he was a Sooner lock

So I've read, and far be it from me to contradict TJ, but Holley looks a lot more like Tuitt than Nix to me. I have a hard time seeing him as a full-time NT.

And we don't need 4 pure NTs on the roster. It looks like we recruit pure DEs, swing guys, and the occasional pure NT; those three categories likely correspond to WDE, SDE, and DT. Just speculating, but ideal depth is probably 6 WDEs, 4 SDEs, and 2 DTs. Maybe I should edit my depth chart to account for those three categories...

I agree with u on that, I originallly thought NG for him but than I see him months later at the Rivals Camp and he lost a lot of bad weight and looked like a DE. I think he isn't a pure NT but he is closer to one than a Tuitt. Somewhere in between.

He has a strong chin and beautiful hair. Truly a young man of good genes.

Not sure but it sounds like a reference to A Song of Fire and Ice/Game of Thrones.

On other news super excited to land him. With a possible overload all I can think is that we are considering a 4-3 defense (maybe the 5-2 Rabbit package???), or we are not very high on some of the prospects in 2015 so we want to make sure we take enough to keep depth up. Either way I just love the type of player we are taking. Talented with love for the program. Another great pull by the staff!

Awesome! Fellas it's been a great week! My little girl was born Tuesday and now we have the father and son (coach and player) hair duo to keep up with. Great get and welcome aboard!

I really like Grant's upside. As others have stated, if he can add significant weight (40-50lbs) after a year or two with Longo, without losing his athleticism, he could be a real solid player.

Also, I hope we can hang on to him. According to 24/7 recruiter rankings, Cooks beat out the #1 Big 12 recruiter, and #8 nationally, Jerry Montgomery from Oklahoma for Grant's commitment. Grant lives a short 100 miles from Norman, OK so I have a feeling this battle is not over. I'm basing that solely off of his previous comments re: Oklahoma. I haven't heard him say anything about ND so really looking forward to what the various sites report after they speak to Grant.

He apparently grew up a ND fan and many were predicting he'd commit a few weeks ago.
