That would be pretty cool. An IE "Guess Who?":

Though part of me doesn't want to lose the association with your avatars: Greyhammer as Val Kilmer, Steelhead as Patrick Swayzee, Woolybug as Jeff Bridges, OMM as Babe Ruth, GITF as Nick Offerman, etc. GBDomer used to be Charlie Day, but now that I've seen his shaggy-haired baby face all over IE, he's not anymore.

I have hung out a few times with GOIRISH back in Socal, and he came out to the Wake Forest game last year and stayed with my family. Phenomenal guy.

And small world...an aquaintance of mine told me about a men's outdoor soccer team, and so I 'tried out' for it a couple of weeks ago. So one of the dudes comes up to me (after learning my name) and asks me if I was NDinL.A. from IrishEnvy LOL. Turns out he is "nlroma1o" from this site. Another great guy and we've been out to the Tilted Kilt with some of the other guys a couple of times since.

Met up with TP the night before the spring game at Brother's out here at Eddy Street Commons. When you're hanging out with James Onwalu's brother, Chris Brown's dad, and not to mention Christian from ISD, as TP was when I got there, then you're pretty legit LOL.

I think that's it, but I'm sure I'll meet more of you next season...

Lol, good times my man. Def gotta do it for a game this year. I can't wait to see a bunch of random people show up at JimmyMacs house next year and his friends reactions hahahha.

There's got to be some resonance between posting style and chosen avatar for people to really start thinking of you like that. Fortunately, you don't post like a crazy crackhead, so I don't picture you as Willie.

Well I could, not sure there'd be enough man there to handle me so I'll have to tuck the girls in, get a hair cut, take off the tank top, errr scratch that, put on an overcoat, not drink (get a little loose like that), etc.....

Yea, I'm in.

Feel like this is such a tight community already that we could all throw back a few at a tailgate and have a damn good time.

Some of us are pretty random. I will be bringing NDDomer, and whatever number he has by then.

(Johnnykillz once called us the two most random posters on the internet.)

Someday, I want to have a Scotch and Spreadsheets geekfest with Whiskeyjack and IrishLax. And earlier in the year, dshans reserved my yard for Jazz Fest camping. Sadly, this would've been the perfect Fest for that. The storms cleared just long enough for Earth, Wind & Fire to kill it on Sunday. Watching Serpentine Fire performed live while soaked, muddy and downing crawfish bread may be my new favorite thing I've done ever. And we've still got Hall & Oates on deck for this weekend.

Maisonbleau became a member here in May of '05 two months before I did. He was a great sportsfan, knowledgeable about ND football, and could talk Xs and Os. He had a subtle sense of humor could give a sporting gibe and equally take one but didn't talk smack.

He was a solid poster here for 7 years mostly in season but hasn't posted in 8 months. Some IE newbie trying to make his bones had to be a prick and changed his user title to ScUM Troll. As a mod I sent bunches of trolls into the ether. I never read a trolling post from Maisonbleau.

Sorry I couldn't make it. A family (niece) June wedding in Chicago took up the designated wild times slot on my calendar this year. It would have worked (for me) had they slated their ceremony at Louis Armstrong Park or Jackson Square this week.

If headed to the Fest this weekend, wander by the flag pole at 1 PM (the designated, default meeting time and place for my Krew) and look for gray haired (or bald) crazy *** folk sporting ND caps or shirts. Introduce yourself, drop my name and hope for good things and beers to happen.

If they turn ugly at the sound of my name ... run like hell!

I would like to confirm that BGIF is in fact a real person one of these days....

...

Bots don't get over a dozen reps for a quick quip about GB's self inflicted language impediment (including reps from GB himself and the on hiatus Wooly among the notables).

Thanks, to all those who offically recognized the repartee.

He is one of my good friends at X we hang out and talk Basketball and Iowa St. Football on the regular. He loves Steele Jance. Pete's a great guy.

How'd you figure out we knew each other? haha

Seriously, there are so many I would like to meet but Bogs, tadman, GoIrish41, Whiskey, dshans, Wooly, Redbar and all my gator killin brethren down south would probably top the list.

That's just me hating advertisements. But yeah I'd rather have that money right about now

Just messing with ya. I hate the ads too. Especially right now. I have been in Maryland for two weeks and they are nothing but Maryland football ads.

The banner ads tell me where my wife has been doing her clothes shopping recently. It's like looking into the future. I see a banner ad on IE and, sure enough, a package arrives at the door from that company a few days later.
