More bad news from Nintendo. It sounds like games are going to cost anywhere from $65 to $75 for what would normally be $60 titles on other platforms. Apparently the cost to produce those dumbass cartridges is a lot more expensive than sticking the content on a Blu-ray. The worst part is that Nintendo is forcing developers to charge the same price for digital games as they do physical games so you're going to have to pay the premium no matter what.

Would a mobile system like this be able to play Blu-rays?

Was originally going to wait until the holidays for a Switch, got one for my birthday instead.

System is good. Very impressed with the build quality. Screen looks surprisingly excellent given its resolution. Like really good. There's something insane about paragliding in Zelda and seeing the huge landscape spread out before you and realizing you're playing a handheld. I've also been very impressed with the battery thus far. I got over three hours of playing Zelda before getting the battery alert. No battery drain when in sleep mode, which was something I was low-key worried about.

Zelda has the makings to be an excellent game. The story is pretty disappointing, but its just a lot of fun to see a mountain in the distance and think "I bet something cool is up there" and go climb it for the next thirty minutes.

I'm not going to do the hyperbole thing and claim its the most amazing thing ever, but it is a very relaxing/contemplating/satisfying game to spend hours upon hours in. Time moves by sooooooooo fast while I'm playing. Last night I was going to stop at 11:00 and go to bed. I hit the button to check the time and it was 12:30... not good.

That doesn't sound right. Do you mean developer's of triple A titles must charge the same price? They aren't allowing developers to set their own prices on indie games? That seems like a monster implosion waiting to happen. You'd essentially drive developers out of the market place.

Digital-only titles can charge whatever they want. But any developer that releases a physical copy of their game as well as a digital copy must charge the same price for digital as they do for physical, which will be more than what that same developer will be charging for the same title on Xbox or PS4.

Thanks for spelling it out, that makes more sense, although still silly.

Glad you enjoy... my buddy raves about that game but raving about this stuff is kind of his thing...

on losing time, RTTS in The Show got me bad last night... it's so much fun this year... I did the same thing last night, wanted to go to bed at 9... turned around and it was past 10... oops.

I usually skip a year with The Show. Between FIFA taking up a crap ton of time since I'm obsessed, and other games, it's what I do. Would you recommend breaking that tradition and getting this year?

They upgraded RTTS quite a bit and retro mode is pretty cool... if either of those appeal to you I'd say definitely... I haven't jumped into franchise yet but I heard they improved that too...

Hmm, you've tempted me. I usually only do RTTS so that's promising. Every time I buy The Show I try to do franchise, but I just don't have the patience for that mode with managing 3 levels of the franchise, DL, options, etc. I know you can do shortened seasons and stuff, but I like to try and keep sports games as realistic as I can.

Same... I am really enjoying RTTS, though I did try a catcher at first and geez was that near impossible... any time the pitch wasn't right down the middle I couldn't react in time to stop it and was getting deducted points every other pitch.... I'm going with an infielder now, started at second, just got moved over to third by management.

They've added more depth to it with your interactions with management, your agent, family and such...

Never tried being a catcher, I can imagine that's rough. Usually do third base and a pitcher.

Really glad they added more interactions and such. That part of RTTS has always been lacking.

I remember playing as a pitcher in RTTS back in the day. Leading the league in strikeouts yet having a terrible win/loss record lol.

This is my first time trying a field position player... always did pitcher in the past. It's been super fun, was drafted 12 overall by the Brewers (one spot ahead of the Angels) and am raking in AA ball for the Biloxi Shuckers thus far. Fielding and baserunning are SOOO different in RTTS though, that's been a challenge, I make some type of fielding or running error almost every game.

The reason no one can find NES Classics or Switch consoles is because an evil, dinosaur-looking turtle that breaths fire is actually hoarding them all in his castle.

But if you storm his castle, defeat his skeleton-turtle guards, avoid pits of lava that shoot fireballs, and successfully navigate the corridor with the ceiling that regularly drops to the floor and has spikes attached to crush you AND pierce your dead body, you will only find that he has simply moved all of the consoles to his next castle.

Dude's a bitch.

Great reference.

This immediately made me think of Windwaker. 75% of the game is spent sailing!

Yeah but Wind Waker was a bit of a cheat. It felt epic, but in reality you were just on a block of blue with randomly generated lines serving as waves.

Road To The Show, a game-mode where you play out the career of a single player. Offers more story-like depth, but obviously you aren't controlling the whole team, just trying to make an impact as an individual.

Anybody here collect SNES games?

I'm looking for a game or two, but my local mom-and-pop has stupid prices on stuff right now, and I though I'd rather give one of you guys my money than buy from Amazon.
