Just finished MG4. On to Phantom Pain.
From too much story to not enough story.

Wiz, cover your ears,... I would love a great zombie game... years before Dead Rising came out I'd tell my friends how "Dawn of the Dead- the Video Game" would be the greatest thing ever. Dead Rising was fun but had many flaws. Dead Island was okay, fun,... but there hasn't really been a legit open world zombie game that really hits what I've been waiting for, at least that I'm aware of.
You heard of "Days Gone"?
It seems interesting, and might be kind of what you're looking for.
Sounds like many of you would recommend The Witcher 3.
I buy ~1 video game every ~3 years, and have like 10 total.
Can I buy the Witcher 3 and enjoy it all the same without having any idea of the first 2? Note that playing the entire series isn't an option for me.
But I am looking for one new game. Might hold out for The Last of Us 2.

TW3 appears to be only $11.99 used for PS4 at my local gamestop. If that's the case I'll pick it up this weekend.

You can get the Complete Edition used off Amazon for $30. It's well worth the extra cash. The two expansions add a huge amount of content, and Blood & Wine is especially awesome.

agreed,... most Walmarts still have the whole deal together for 20 bucks too. That's where I got mine. B&W alone was better than the entirety of Last of Us imo, I'll say again.
Skyrim is an example of a game that was too much time investment for me. Considering I'm on the bubble of even taking on a new game or not, could I still get the appreciation of the game out of the basic ~$12 version? I very well may not have time for the complete expansion.
Or is the best parts of the game in the expansions?
Got it. I appreciate the insights everyone!
def spend the extra 10 bucks or whatever for the complete... it'll be worth it. Have you spent time on ANY open world game? GTA, RDR, AC, etc...?? TW is kind of mid grade when it comes to time and such but it's just an amazingly made game. If it sucks you in like it did everyone else and you complete it you'll regret not having the expansions if you don't get them,... just my two cents.
I finished RD1, but that was a different time in my life when I had time to kill. TO hear that TW3 is lighter than that is good to know.
Started Skrim, got like a level 31 and never touched it again because I knew I could never finish it.

Play God of War now, then I'll trade you in a few weeks.RDR2 is only $40 on Amazon now, but 'God of War' is sitting in my cabinet already.
Can't decide which I want to play when I finish Odyssey's DLC.

Also, question on this:
When you buy a "complete" edition, but it's "used," isn't there a chance that you won't actually get the "complete" experience? If the DLC is included as refreshed download codes, they won't be good if the original buyer redeemed them.
Or does "complete" mean that the DLC expansions are included in the base game disc itself?

I've never finished an ES game either... I believe I'm at the last level of the story in Skyrim and in the last few in Oblivion... still have both, and will prob get there one day, lol. So I get it.
I am highly looking forward to the next ES game tho... no doubt. Everything that other open world games have brought to the table since Skyrim has really up'd the bar and I doubt Bethesda will just ignore it all.
I'll have you know I've been replaying Skyrim the last few weeks, and I gave the Imperials another shot with an open mind.
They're still a bunch of bitches. I feel dirty playing through the Civil War storyline as an Imperial. General Tulius was sent by the Empire to pacify Ulfric's rebellion, but he has no knowledge of the culture that he's been sent to subjugate. He constantly needs to be informed and reminded of Nord culture by Legate Rikke. Tulius and the other Imperials are ignorant of Skyrims traditions and show them no respect. It's clear that even though Cyrodil rolled over for the Aldmeri Dominion, Skyrim was not ready to stop fighting. It's painfully obvious that the Empire is completely disconnected from Skyrim, and vice versa. Right from the get go you're shown Imperial hospitality as they send you to the chopping block because you just happened to be in the same area as the Imperial ambush that caught Ulfric and his men.
The Imperials are nothing more than lapdogs for the Thalmor. The adage "Only a united Empire can beat the Thalmor" isn't true, since we see in Elder Scrolls lore than the Daggerfall Covenant is able to later turn away the Dominion in their own territory. It's obvious the Empire is no longer needed or effective. Their numbers are stretched thin. Further, the Reach would be completely controlled by the Forsworn if Ulfric had not driven them out, and to thank him they stabbed him in the back and gave him over to the Imperials. The Jarl of Windhelm is guilty of nothing but standing up for his people. He's accused of murder, but this is nothing more than Imperial propaganda as he challenged High King Torygg to single combat, as part of Skyrim custom, and his challenge was accepted which resulted in Torygg's death.
