The Empire is vastly needed in Skyrim, if only to ensure a steady supply of meds for those like you.

Skyrim doesn't need a bunch of milk drinkers telling them what to do, and Nords are already plenty good with Alchemy. You can say they know their plants.

As one who loved FO:NV (but was pretty disappointed by FO4), this grossly understates Cyberpunk's potential. The best FO games are very good, but none of them deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as TWIII. CD Projekt Red is next level.

GTFO! Haven't finished Witcher III yet (Have yet to reinstall after a hard drive crash), but played through all of Witcher II. It was fun, and I haven't finished III obviously, but I'm not sure how much better III can be that it's not mentioned in the same breath as the best Fallouts? Psh.

You know I'm a FO fan. But TWIII is the GOAT game. There's no comparison. Finish it first, and then we can discuss which FO title you think is superior and why.

This is the shit I'm talking about right here! How are we supposed to just leave these Ulfric fluffers to their own devices? They clearly can't take care of themselves.

Dev glitch in Red Dead... I'm pretty sure that any meat from game you killed with a poison arrow is supposed to be poisoned itself but it appears they forgot to put that feature in despite mentioning it in the compendium.

Speaking of RDR2 glitches, I found one late in my playthrough that would have been very helpful earlier.

Kill an animal. If you need a pristine hide, but the one you killed is less than perfect, just save your game and reload. The carcass will spawn in without a quality rating, and such carcasses are always pristine when skinned.

Would have saved me a lot of time hunting cougars, moose, and other rare animals.

I've yet to manage a three star snake skin...

I killed dozens and only ended up with 3-4 pristine snake hides. Gave up on the Raddlesnake Vaquero Saddle (which requires 10!) pretty early.

So annoying to have your horse spooked, equip bow and small game arrows, jump off horse, run back to spook location, track snake, and chase it for 20-30 seconds... only to find yet another 2-star piece of garbage coiled up and laughing at you.

I later felt so great about giving all my early pelts and stuff to Pearson for camp upgrades........

I was frustrated by my inability to fully upgrade the camp. I didn't even run into my first moose until the Epilogue.

Spoiler: And it would have been nice if the upgrades you managed to complete were displayed in and around Beecher's Hope. Felt like a lot of what I spent hours working on as Arthur just went up in smoke as soon as John takes over.

I just started playing RDR2 and that's a good one to know. Any other advice while I begin my journey?

I just started playing RDR2 and that's a good one to know. Any other advice while I begin my journey?

  • Liberal use of Deadeye trivializes combat. But always take cover first if it's available.
  • Deadeye also makes most gun stats irrelevant, since a headshot from even your weakest weapon will always kill. Range >>> Capacity (because emptying your gun pops you out of Deadeye, which is mostly relevant to single-shot rifles)> everything else. Range determines how far your auto-aim will acquire a target when you hit L2.
  • Remember to craft Split Point revolver and repeater rounds frequently, as they're the best anti-personnel rounds you can get.
  • I kept 2 x Schofield Revolvers for close-range, but used my Lancaster Repeater for 95% of my gun fights.
  • Did almost all of my hunting with a Bolt-action Rifle or Varmint Rifle and Deadeye (without scoping). Only used the Bow or a Repeater on the very few animals that can't be harvested cleanly with the first two weapons.
  • Most efficient way to use Deadeye is: click L2 to acquire a target with auto-aim, engage Deadeye, drift up to head, paint target with RB, shoot with R2, disengage Deadeye, click L2 to acquire the next target, etc.
  • Even with a full Deadeye bar, your aim in Deadeye will be shaky until you refill your Deadeye Core. Thus, items that refill your Deadeye core are the most valuable consumables you'll find-- namely Cigars, Gin, Rum and Cognac. Consumables that refill your Deadeye bar without damaging your core are next--mostly just Snakeoil Tonics. Consumables that refill your bar while damaging your core (like chewing tabacco) are still useful, just less so.
  • Pick all the Oregano, Mint and Thyme you can find. Use them to cook Minty/ Oregano/Thyme Big Game meat at camp, which gives you golden cores for a day.
  • Always carry a Horse Reviver with you. Losing a good horse is one of the worst things that can happen to you in this game.
  • Go tame the White Arabian near Lake Isabella as soon as possible.
  • Don't bother with the crafted saddles, since they can't be used with Stirrups. The Gerden Trail Saddle + Hooded Stirrups is the best combo you can get.
  • The upgrades to your Deadeye are the most important you'll get in the game, but there's no way to rush them, since they come naturally as the story progresses.
  • The most important upgrades you can rush are the talismans crafted via legendary animal parts. Alligator, Buck and Panther's Eye are the most helpful.
  • Pick up every pack of Premium Cigarettes you find (even if you have to smoke one to make room in your inventory) since every one has a Cigarette Card, and you'll need to complete at least one set of them to craft one of the best talismans.
  • If you stumble upon a train robbery and kill the rival gang, you can commandeer the train and finish the 3rd Sharpshooter Challenge very easily.

That's all I can think of right now.

Forgot something important: money. You'll be cash strapped early. Finding treasure maps and doing Exploration challenges will quickly fix that.

You'll get to rob a bank in Chapter 3. Despite the protests of your fellow gang members, take your time and loot everything. Money shouldn't be an issue after that.

Edit: Upgrade your satchel through Pearson ASAP. Being able to carry 99 of everything is very helpful.

A bit Spoilerish for RDR2:

So I just started Chapter 5 and completed all the Guarma stuff. Not sure how I feel about it. Not sure if it really fits with the big picture but I guess I have to keep playing to make a final determination.

Also, I ran into a drunk guy by a campfire and he started telling stories about a Native Americans at Fort Briggs and when I looted his body after he passed out I found a Native American ring which was identified as a "unique item". Besides the one letter you find at Fort Briggs (and a cheat code) it doesn't seem like Redditors or anyone else has figured out what the ring is for. Does anyone know?

Bummed I never came across the drunk. From what little I've read on this since reading your post, it sounds like the drunk is (obviously) meant to get you to investigate Fort Riggs, the unique ring is intended to give his story credence, and all you find there is a spooky place, a creepy poem about "Waziya", and the race horse cheat code.

Question: If I replay missions after total completion does it overwrite my save at the point of replay? Or do I just get to relive missions here and there while still having the game completed??

The latter. Replaying a mission tosses you right into it with a basic outfit, guns, and minimal consumables (which can make the experience much more challenging than it was your first time through), and when you're done, it snaps you right back to where you were when you opted to replay that mission (middle of a field, etc.) It never disrupts your game.

I was a little frustrated that there's no convenient way to see what the requirements are for gold when you're playing a mission for the first time. Had I just known I needed X headshots, or no health consummables, etc. I probably could have gotten gold on 70% of them first try.

Played lots of RDR2 this weekend while my wife was away and I think I can safely conclude this'll be a game that I never 100%. I'm mid Chapter 6 and have come across a total of one dreamcatcher, zero dinosaur bones, and zero wall carvings. I'll complete all of the challenges and all of the legendaries, but the rest of the crap is far too tedious. Even things like the hunting requests and exotics quest call to mind the worst RDR1 quest, Deadalus and Son.

Those were actually really easy to finish. Just use this interactive map, filter out everything but those three collection quests, and hit them all in one big circuit. Should only take an hour or two.

But you're right about the Hunting Requests and Exotics. Those were brutal. Hunting for small rare animals takes forever (though the end of the Hunting Requests line was hilarious.) I would not recommend most people try to 100% RDR2. It really gets to be a slog at the end.

And don't underestimate the challenges. Some of them can be very painful. Gambler 8 takes a looong time unless you're very lucky, Herbalist 9 requires a YouTube video to complete in a reasonable amount of time, etc.

The time isn't the issue, it's just not fun for me to go through the motions of a seek-and-find as directed by an online guide. It was a mistake for them to make those tasks literally impossible without online help. Difficult? Fine. Grindy? Fine. But those are literally impossible.

I'm trying to complete the Horse challenge (4 I think) where you have to drag someone 3300 feet or something like that. Is there a way to do this without killing the person? Inevitably someone witnesses me dragging a dead guy on my horse and I get a bounty.

And that's fine. If you're not compelled to 100% your favorite games like I am, you're not missing much of anything by skipping those. I was just pointing out that those are pretty easy compared to some of the other stuff Rockstar threw in.

AFAIK, it's not possible to survive being dragged that long. You could try starting with a bandit corpse if you'd like to avoid killing someone in the process. I completed it in the wilderness, and only ran into a couple passers-by (who both said something like "I've seen worse"), so I didn't get a bounty.

Wait until you get in a fight where you're clearly the "good guy," i.e. you get ambushed by the Murfree Brood or something. Kill everyone except the last guy and lasso him, then ride slowly. I kept a guy alive for about 1,500 feet so I only had to do it two or three times.

Also I think the controller gives you vibration feedback when you're going fast enough to do damage.

You can drag them dead the whole time. I did get a bounty but dragged him out of the county, got the challenge completion then went straight to the nearest PO.
