Looking really forward to Ghost of Tsushima actually... everything I've seen seems more my speed.
A soulsborne game by From Software that's apparently more technically demanding than Bloodborne?
Also: Cyberpunk 2077 looks fucking awesome. Where have I been?
I'm enthralled by the pre-Alpha gameplay footage. Bio implants? Potential black market for military-grade implants? Black market dealings with corporate rogues? Futuristic sports cars? Sheeeesh.
That sounds terrifying
You PS4 fanboys are lucky that Nintendo exists to absorb all of the Internet's weeb hate, because you'd be next in line.
Epicnamebro, who is a top tier Dark Souls guy and has a lot of ins within From Software, has said this game is likely going to raise the skill floor needed to beat the game from prior From Soft games as well as the skill ceiling for more talented players. I'm actually excited for this since Dark Souls really wasn't that hard, it just had a steep early learning curve and emphasized those lessons by being purposefully punishing. Once you learned the rules, it really isn't much more difficult than most other games. Bloodborne is faster than Dark Souls, but it's also much more lenient about playing sloppy. Bloodborne is still arguably the best PS4 exclusive, but I often wished for something that was as fast as Bloodborne but as punishing as Dark Souls. This sounds like this might be it. From Soft games are at their best before you've figured out their systems and are still getting demolished by basic level enemies, so I'm very excited to be hurt.
I'll also add that From Software usually does their best work on new IPs, so the fact that this isn't a sequel or anything has me very excited.
Idk what a PS4 fanboy is.
I just think Cyberpunk 2077 looks like an enjoyable, neon-filled version of Fallout, and seems to integrate the sci-fi and HUD into the gameplay much better, which seems cool.
I tried both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, and couldn't get into them. I'm gonna give first-person RPG another try with Cyberpunk.
FO4>>> FO3...
we've covered this, and it is known.
As one who loved FO:NV (but was pretty disappointed by FO4), this grossly understates Cyberpunk's potential. The best FO games are very good, but none of them deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as TWIII. CD Projekt Red is next level.
CD Projekt Red is next level.
Agreed! And FO:NV >>> FO4. The earlier iterations are an entirely different genre of game, so it's hard to compare them. But none of them comes close to The Witcher III.

I'm not a big-time follower of developers, and I haven't played Witcher 3, so I didn't mean to sell the developers and the potential for the game short. It was the only way I could describe it from my experience.
Only concern I have here is that while Witcher III is one of the (if not the) best games ever made, it's the only one they've ever made on that level. Witcher 1 was good for the time, and Witcher 2 was excellent but very flawed. I'm still a little nervous that Witcher III might have been a masterwork by a very good studio, and that Cyberpunk will be more in line with "excellent but not remembered in 10 years" that was their previous standard.

My only beef with Witcher 3 was the story plays so much off the books and previous games (I know that now) that if you just jump in blind like i did you are completely lost as to what the hell is going on and why for much of the first play through.
W3 was def the best open world game I've played if that makes sense... it was so well made AND fun. RDR1 is just special for me, I've only played through an open world game more than once with two games, TW3 twice and RDR1 like four separate times...
I jumped in blind as well and didn't have much trouble getting up to speed. CDPR does such a good job with the narrative.
But... the books are another fringe benefit to playing TWIII! The Last Wish is only $8.79 on Amazon, and Sword of Destiny is $12.59. Both are very quick reads, and will give you all the backstory you need to enjoy the game even more.
Just finished MG4. On to Phantom Pain.

What you're describing is the difference between "favorite" and "best".
Agreed. The more distance I put between myself and RDR2, the more TWIII seems to creep back into my all-time favorite spot.
