I finally ponied up and built a gaming PC. It's a smallish box that's a bit larger than a console, looks like a subwoofer. I play using a wireless mouse and keyboard that I keep in a coffee table drawer when not in use. Honestly the thing I've enjoyed the most is how cheap games are on it. Between Steam, GoG, Greenmangames, and cdkeys, pretty much every game, even brand new ones, are on sale for $30 or less somewhere.

I did the same but my case is huge. I thought the mid-ATX wouldn't be gargantuan in size. I've played a bunch of Skyrim to finish my campaign started in 2011 but I haven't had as much time as of late.

Really scrutinizing my next purchase because it'll likely consume all the game time I can find.

I purchased my son a G29 racing wheel, the stick shift, a leather car seat with a frame to mount the equipment, Project Cars 2, and Dirt 4 for Christmas.

After spending a few hours getting used to the controls, I have two words:
Holy Shit!

I truly thought I was done playing video games, I was wrong.
This is my new winter hobby. Poor kid has to fight me for the PS4 every night now.

I never even liked racing games in the past.

Same company with some similar things from what I hear, but yeah. I actually really enjoy playing and have conquered both Scotland and Wales under the banner of Ireland, but getting England is tough. Crusading is fun tho

On EU4, I managed to unite Germany under the flag of Bavaria. Took me about 400 years, had to be very careful. Take advantage of big powers being at war, using Catholicism as a Casus belli to keep Austria, France, Poland, and the Vatican happy, and eventually, a strong alliance with Poland.

Tried doing an Irish campaign as well. Decided it might be impossible. United the counties of Ireland(sans Dublin) under the flag of Tyrone. Even started settling a couple areas in the New World, but eventually England comes knocking on the door and Ireland is utterly helpless no matter what you do it appears. That'll be a VERY difficult project.


Started XCOM2 last night. A tactical turn-based game. Very odd game. Seems like a kinda fun game though.

So I totally caved on Battlefront 2. Re-bought the Ultimate Trooper Deluxe Edition a few weeks ago. Currently sitting at 30+ hours and I've been finishing in the top 5 in all of my multiplayer matches. It's fun as shit.

Yes. It is. I havent paid for a single thing and btw me and my son (60hrs total) we have unlocked all the characters but three and have been aboe to upgrade many of our classes. Its really fun. Campaign mode is great too. Leia is a bad ass. Vader is amazing.

It's not amazing in a video game-y sense but it's amazing in a Star Wars-y sense. It's like playing a really fantastic Star Wars novel. I absolutely love the new main character.

SO I played Fallout 4 for the first time in a long time... sided with the Minutemen and destroyed the Institute and suddenly the game just seems.... over?? A few other missions disappeared, I got a decent cut scene and now there seems to be nothing left to do at all... no side missions, nothing... I can't even get more minutemen 'helps a settlement' mission now.

Kind of frustrating... Any help from ulk or others who played this game? Are there any DLCs that are worth it? I'm having fun playing all of a sudden and bam, game ends.

EA had already disabled the ability to purchase crystals by the time I got the game and they haven't turned it back on yet, so I couldn't pay-to-win even if I wanted to.

I did purchase the "Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition," which contained a few star cards. But I've already unlocked all of the stuff I want on my trooper class for regular progression anyways.

Officer with Blurrg-1120, Flash Grenade, Battle Command, and Blaster Turret. Into a fighter as soon as I have the battle points and dominate from the air.

That was one thing I could never master in the first one.

I'd get into a fighter during Supremacy or Walker Assault and try to target ground troops, but I'd end up kamikaze-ing myself into the dirt after having done almost zero damage.

That's how most FO games work. Once you complete the main quest, the game's pretty much over.

I completed Far Harbor and Automatron. Both were pretty meh. Started Nukaworld and lost interest very quickly.

Might do a Survival mode run someday, but I don't otherwise see myself going back to it. New Vegas is always calling to me, though. So much better in almost every way.

I liked 4 much better than 3 I know that but damn, all other open world games, Elder Scrolls, GTA, Witcher usually had at least a bunch of side stuff to do... I mean even the help a settlement stuff seems to have gone away.
