Cant wear cotton in the south during 110 degree 100% humidity. #swampass

So you prefer shrink wrap acrylic or polyester over absorbent, breathing cotton?

I beg to differ.

Besides – isn't cotton King in the South?

I don't wear it out to dinner, I wear it for four hours twelve times a year on gameday.

Is that not a normal thing?

That's what I'm wearing right now.

Speaking of things "real men" do, real men don't wear petroleum-based shorts. Cotton or nothing you slob.

It's a commonly considered fanhood faux pass. Clay Travis had a laugh worthy comment on this that I agree with:

If you absolutely must wear a jersey then you definitely buy throwbacks from when you were a kid.

No grown man can ever wear a jersey of a player younger than he is.

Ever.

If you do this, you’re making it clear to everyone that you wish you could Eiffel Tower — with interlocked fingers — with your favorite player while your wife or girlfriend is between you on all fours.

Idk. Linen maybe. Nowadays there are some great blends that breath and dont chafe my nugget pouch.

So there will be another reveal for the Shamrock game too?
I can handle anything for one game, so I can't say that I hate them. We'll see how they look on game day.

Pretty sure they're taking this year off from the Shamrock Series

College is different. A Notre Dame jersey is a Notre Dame jersey, it's not the jersey of some player. I wasn't buying a Jaylon Smith jersey, I was just buying whatever number they happened to be selling at the time.

I also own three professional jerseys. Tom Brady home and away, plus an authentic Curt Schilling with 2004 World Series patch. Brady and Schilling are both way older than me.

I gave up on buying jerseys after I bought my white #5 jersey.

Shortly after I bought it, Manti got Catfish'd and Everett cheated on a test.

Never again.

Same here. My brother bought me the white jersey with green lettering. The one with God.Country.Notre Dame on it with all of the National Titles on the inseam. Totally dope looking. He got me #5 for Manti. I've worn it three times.

- Title game against Bama
- Pitt in '13 (figured it was a cakewalk that would get the mojo back)
- Halfway through the Temple game in '15. We started losing, I took it off and we barely squeaked it out 24-20.

That beauty hasn't left my closet since. Thought about giving it a Viking funeral.

Eh. Just tell people it's for Hornung or McKnight. Plenty of guys have worn the #5 and done it well.

I love everything except the yellow color.

I was pretty much in this same boat (although I don't love ROCKNE on everyone's back), but if you look at the picture of the jersey on the bookstore website, the colors are MUCH better. After seeing that I'm pretty pumped for this one because I think the helmet and cleats look amazing

I think the larger point is that adults look like dweebs in jerseys. The age limit is there to ensure that you stop wearing jerseys in young adulthood. He was responding to a mailbag question someone asked about their work having a jersey day but their refusal to participate. Hence the "if you have to wear a jersey..." The larger rule is, don't wear jerseys once you become an adult male. Females can wear jerseys, but that puts out a different signal...

I've never been a fan of this trend.

Meh. I agree as an article of clothing. As I said, I wouldn't wear a jersey out to dinner or even a the grocery store, but I think it's appropriate in approximately three contexts: 1) in a stadium, 2) watching a game in your own home, or 3) watching a game in a sports bar.

Why are we doing a Rockne tribute during the season in which Ara passed?

The Ara tribute is on the every week helmets. The Rockne thing is one game.

They obviously made the decision to do the Rockne jerseys long ago. Just looks like bad timing with Ara's death.

I'll bet ND, NU & UA do something for Ara at next year's game in Evanston.

These, but it also may coincide with the fact Rockne first started coaching the Irish 100 years ago this year.

$95 for a shitty SCREEN PRINTED jersey? That's insane.

To quote the poet Macklemore:

"Yo that's ninety dollars for a t-shirt."

Their entire fuggin' catalog is ridiculously over-priced.

I feel like that with Under Armour in general, though, so combine the UA company with the ND brand, and you've got the perfect storm of shit prices.

I might cop one of them hoodies, tho.

Par for the course. The University is really squeezin' the blood from a stone these days.

It's never okay as an adult male....never.

What signal would that be?
