Unranked DL Austin Maloata committed to USC. He apparently cried when he was offered yesterday. That's the second unranked DL they have committed. Not saying they aren't qualify players (the second unranked guy was changed to a 90 Rating on 247) but not the guys I'm use to seeing USC pursue. Not very impressed with USCs class so far.

Just did some research and this guy just moved from Somoa and has a okay offer list actually. Probably unranked because he was not know about, not that he was not good.

At least they are scary looking

Don't be surprised to see their sh!thead coach take some JUCO players that can contribute right away to make up for this.

the one guy is Juco.... If they picked them up only cause they are big then expect a lot of personal fouls

Lane has had too many highly rated recruits flip on him. It's similar to being dumped by a few hot girls so you start dating an ugly one because you know she'll never leave.

Seizure warning would have been nice. Came close to getting a neg rep, but I was all Michael J. and couldn't manage it. I have since been sedated.

I agree with this, and good job on explaining it in a way that even I can understand.

Yea and he has apparently had a pretty rough life too. Father incarcerated and mother died in the last year. He is originally from Virginia iirc.

Ha ha...it's partly that and partly more:

1. Kiffy messed up in that he only went after 5 star guys and high 4 star guys, many of them out of state. Well, the problem is 2 fold - those guys are not only highly sought after by some big-time schools and recruiters, but many of them bring a lot of drama with them too a lot of the time on the count of being pampered and/or the many handlers they have trying to get rich off them (see: Lynch, Aaron and Omar Hunter and a plethora of others). Those guys have left USC at the last minute and left USC holding the bag, an empty one at that.

I said it from the get-go that the worst part of the sanctions would be that they couldn't miss on ANY recruits b/c depth would kill them, and they missed on quite of few these past few years, and it has bit them in the arse these past 2 years.

2. By not securing a few local 4 star or 3 star kids early (think Justin Brent), they have not only pissed off many local coaches, they have missed on some diamonds in the rough that would have stayed loyal the entire process as well helped with depth. I'm not saying take big-time reaches...I'm saying take the kid that you feel you can develop (their development of players has been SPOTTY at best since Carroll's last great year) who can be a starter his jr and sr years. This was plain stupid of them, and they really got killed by it last recruiting class.

3. The new kid, the Samoan, what a story. This is the type of kids USC needed to be getting the last 2 cycles but passed on. Life-long trogan fan in Samoa, his mom left him and his dad when he was just a boy, and his dad got sick early in his teenage years. He knew he needed to go to the states to play football if he wanted to get noticed, but his dad wanted him to stay to help him with his health. They all made the tough decision to let him follow his dreams in the USA.

He stepped off the plane and was coerced by his coach to go to a Rivals camp a few days later to compete against some of the best athletes around, despite not having a clue about proper technique. He still did very well there and then did well at his h.s. these past couple of years, and got his offer yesterday. A dream come true, and a chance to better his life and maybe his father's as well (eventually). That is why he cried when he got the offer.

I'm rambling but I'll root hard for this kid to make it. These are the kids that USC should have been recruiting along with the 5 stars (guys like Spond, Brent, Collinsworth, Springman, Farley, etc); character guys who have talent but will also bust their arses to get PT, thus making every practice better. I hate USC but they have done a good thing for themselves by securing this kid (I'm not impressed with their other D-line recruit they got a month or so ago, a 3 star who just didn't impress me very much, but Ed O is a good coach and he knows much more than me).

(It was either type this long post or watch "The Help" with my wife LOL. Time to go back and pretend I'm into it.)

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are donating a large amount of money to open a school of Entertainment Management at USC as well.

I guess not, I am new to this tablet, didn't know there was a safe search. Thank you I will investigate.

It's on by default. Sometimes things get by it when you search risky things...

Like a porn star for instance.
