Is something up with their S&C? It seems like they have a lot of bad injuries? We've been bit by the injury bug too though so IDK.

I could be wrong, but I would chalk an ACL up to a freak accident more than a strength and conditioning issue.

I think when Dayne dropped that ball, he transferred his snakebitten-itis over to USC.

tough luck for the kid, practices at USC must be pretty stressful for the coaches as they will want to push the players and make everything competitive but also be aware of how little depth they have and how they cant afford injuries like Farmers.

Farmer Out For '13 Season

Farmer Out For '13 Season

USC's Farmer suffers major knee injury - CBSSports.com

Feldman 4/3

... The injury occurred after Farmer caught a pass during drills with no defenders around him, but he then dropped to the ground clutching his left knee.

The 6-2, 210-pound Farmer, who also is a sprinter on the Trojans' track team, was having a strong spring, coaches say and had been making a run at being the team's No. 3 wideout behind star Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor.

In his first two seasons with the Trojans Farmer caught five passes for a total of 49 yards and no touchdowns.

Jesus, I swear this USC team could get hurt practicing with NCAA '14 for XBOX. They'd all get carpal tunnel or some **** like that...

I dunno about you, but my knee was never the same after I tore mine.

I tore my acl and mcl in my right knee and my miniscus in my left knee during rehab. Switched from football and basketball to water polo and swimming and had a very successful career after my injuries, and I still play basketball to this day. I was fortunate to have great rehab facilities near my house.

Also- my water polo team went 23-3 with a east coast championship my senior year while both my schools football and basketball teams finished last in the league. And I loved polo. Worked out so well for me even if I was bummed in the time I couldn't be the same football player I was (all league fresh yr)

Kudos. I swam competitively from 7th grade through 12th grade. I fancied myself a decent, in shape swimmer ... until I tried water polo a few times and damn near got drowned!

Seems like maybe these guys are getting pushed hard during spring to be ready for fall. Maybe too hard. This is a serious rash of injuries during spring ball.

This has been Kiffin's m.o. for a while though. He always practices his players really hard and without the depth or scholarships to rotate guys in, first team guys are getting most all the reps. I think NDinLA was the one that said this was how the scholarships would hurt them...

possibly a holdover from the Pete Carroll days he had his players beat the crap out of each other every Tuesday, but that was when they were stocked with 5 star guys and had great depth.

maybe i am in the minority and i don't wish injury...BUT if anyone is going to get injured i would love for it to be USC players....they knew what they were signing up for or should i say w/ who

Yeah. Before last year started I really thought U$C was gonna be tough to beat, possibly a #1 team. Then the injury bug hit and the lack of depth showed. I do believe it was NDinLA who said as much.

Anyway I never like to see a collegiate athlete get hurt. Good luck to these kids.

Back to front:

I never thought USC was going to be a number one team. I knew they had Lane as a coach. But I figured they would be respectable and pretty good on defense as long as Monte stuck around!

About the meniscus, medial and lateral, it depends how and where torn. That makes a huge difference. A chip, or down to the bone. A clean tear, or an explosion of the pad? Maybe a resident expert could explain it better.

I'm sure it's hard to replace a guy like Robert Woods, but with Lee still around and N. Agholor the number 2 is the loss of Farmer that big of a deal. I know he was highly touted coming out of highschool and U$C depth chart is a big issue but has Farmer done much yet to make his injury a big loss?
