I really think Brent is going to wow people. He was so much faster at The Opening than people were expecting, and is just one hell of an athlete. That's the only "difference maker" I see on offense. I don't know if Weishar counts as a "difference maker" but if he bulks up he's also going to dominate as a TE. He's a freak.
On D, I LOVE our recruiting class minus the gaping hole at DT. I think about half the players are vastly underrated. I love Trumbetti, Blankenship, Williams, Hill relative to their rankings. I think it's a Stanford-esque class of guys with ability + the right demeanor.
On the whole, I love how this class compliments '13. Two year haul at WR is going to be absolute boss if we land Quick. The two year haul at RB is great, as much as I'd like to have Hood or Starks. I think Hood is going to destroy CFB. The two year haul on the OL could be absurdly good. We got two good QBs. Our TE haul of Heurman, Smythe, Weishar, Luatua... oh em gee.
On defense, I'm not a huge fan of how we've recruited the DL. That's a question mark. Our linebackaer haul of the past two years is ridiculous. 4-3 with Smith + Morgan + Hill/Randolph/Yeargin/etc. as a SAM? Game over. In the secondary, there is a lot to like of our CBs + Redfield. Devin Butler is much better than I thought he would be. He's big and sticky.
Anyways, I agree with you that the team does lack gamebreakers. There is no true world-beater 5

#1 draft pick style talent. But I think it's setting up to have a nasty defense and an explosive spread offense... because in the spread you don't need a Calvin Johnson or Adrian Peterson true "I'm better than you" skill players.
