Only things for sure:

-Breakfast buffet tomorrow morning after I get in (I get in super f'ing early)
-Doobie Brothers tomorrow night (actually the whole point of the trip if you can believe that, my buddy has this classic rock bucket list and he's crossed off almost every act, one of the few remaining is tDB and I'm like the only friend he has that also likes classic rock enough to go to a concert lol)
-Pool on Thursday
-There is some retro arcade bar in town he wants to hit up

Everything else is pretty much going with the flow.

There are some great pool bar places. A ton of my buds are sold on the Hard Rock pool.
Also, several cool cigar bars if you like a good fatty and a nice bourbon or scotch.
Last time I went, we over did it at a cigar bar, and ended going and riding a mechanical bull lol.

Anyone gone to Alaska? Not a cruise but flying up there then driving around?

I lived and worked in Ketchikan for a minute. My primary advice is be careful (never been anywhere where there are so many ways to die). Also, if you hear the name Auger the Logger run. Lol.

Tell Isabella Soprano and Air Force Amy I said howdy after you toss your cocktail wiener down the hall.

Amy has to be in her mid 50's by now. Read an article once where she said she gets $3K per hour. If ACamp is willing to pay so much for a burger, then her price shouldn't be a problem.

3 large for 2 really large and a rotted out stink hole? Right up Camper's alley.

Koon...A Camp...
Just got back from Flamingo last night. Recently remodeled rooms...actually nice.

Koon..sign up for Casars Total Rewards NOW online, and once you have your #, call reservations and see if you can add it.

When you get to hotel park in the deck (enter off Linq Rd, * behind* hotel. Rest of parking there is a wreck due to construction.
Go straight to the Total Rewards desk and get your membership card.
You put it down every time you change $ at a table.
Which I rec doing every time you change tables. Go back to cashier and change chips for cash, then new table. Makes you look like you're spending/gambling more $ than you are (and we all know you love shortcuts) and may get you to a free buffett faster. Start with $10 tables til you know what the hell you're doing.
That card should also be presented at any table , slot. Or restaurant/bar at Flamingo, Caesars, Bally's, Cromwell, Planet Hollywood (baller vibe there), Paris, Linq, etc...that whole section of strip is Caesars.

recs: Mesa Grill at Caesar's is legit...a Bobby Flay joint with killer lambchops. Unless you earn a comp, expect 75/head. Hash House AGoGo at The Rio for breakfast (also one in Linq but we've been told Rio's is better)... Sage Chicken Beneduict. 1 ordee for yoy borhb I don't care how pregnant/hungry she is...trust me.
If you're into it, friends tell us the dispensary acrpss from Stratosphere, N end of Strip, has verrrry cool, knowledgable and friendly staff to go with nice selection of edibles etc...also topicals' if wife has muscle etc pain.

Absinthe at Caesar's is a funny, bawdy, rowdy semi-acrobatic show...we loved it.

If you buy a dinner, show tix and have your room bill credited to your TR account..."spending" 100 or 200 at the tables is probably enuff to get u a free buffet. Which aren't as great as people make them seem imho...but ymmv. Make sure the pit boss sees you lay down the hundreds.

For some other stuff to do... Here's a few articles about eats and non-gambling activities: http://artadventuretravel.com/

Thanks for the advice. This was supposed to be a casual trip, but Ocean's 14 mode activated!

Oh... and check Groupon for deals on restaurants, experiences, sometime show tix. BUT - if you buy tix via groupon, you won't get the points on the Total Rewards.

Not sure if you have status with any hotel chain(s), but Caesars will match certain statuses...

Headed to Fort Lauderdale with the lady for the first time. Any recommendations? Staying at the Hilton Beachside Resort. We are both conservative financially, don't need high end restaurants, and have always loved dive bars/ mom and pop joints.

Haven't been in a while, but we had a blast taking the water taxis. They span all of FtL and Hollywood. You can buy passes IIRC that let you jump on and off at all the stops. You can do just a day of sight seeing and shopping, or what we did (bar hopping).

One of my buddies did a "fast ferry" or something like that to Bimini. He was also staying at the Hilton (not sure if it's the same one you're at), and actually booked the day trip through Hilton. Came with passes to use the Bimini Hilton Beach Club (pool, beach, pugs, etc.). 2ish hour trip each way.

Growing up in so cal and just driving in I’ve never experienced this terrible side of Vegas,... the toilet paper at Mcarron,... jeebus,... it’s like wiping your ass with razor wire. Koon if nothing else, use the facilities BEFORE you get to the air port. I’ve literally never experienced anything this awful....

Place is good and walking distance to about 4 breweries and a ton of bars

Yup, delicious. I first got turned onto them in AZ. I always hit the place if I'm ever there.
It's great pre-drink or after-drink food too.

They don't want your ass on a toilet having a good time. They want you out there spending money like a fool.

You can drink in Vegas?

Anyone familiar with Pawley's Island in South Carolina?

Some family members are planning on going, so I might take my family along.

There are two places I would recommend as must go to restaurants.

On Pawley's Island is an Italian restaurant called Pastaria 811. Very good traditional style Italian restaurant.

However, if you want the really, really awesome restaurants drive 10 miles north and go to Murrell's Inlet. That little area has the best restaurants in South Carolina outside of Charleston. Wicked Tuna is pricey, but its a fantastic seafood restaurant. Then all around Wicked Tuna are other bars and restaurants that are good to great - Wicked Tuna is special though.
