Pardon the bump but can someone tell me what has been going on with him? Has he played? If not, why?

I would guess it is because he plays at a position where ND is very, very deep. And if I remember correctly, I thought I read that he wasn't very impressive during camp

I hope Corey becomes an All American at ND and even more so, gets that ND paper for the office wall

BUT

At this time, my question is does he make it to graduation before he plays elsewhere (?)

Hope he moves to free safety. He has the frame and athleticism for it and we have zero depth there.

edit: lax beat me to it

He's really struggling and I liked him a lot in high school. Thought he was a Rashad Greene clone. These WR's we are bringing in as well, hope nothing but the best for Corey but he might see a free fall

I think it's too early to say he's a bust. I realize he didn't have a great fall camp, but it's just his second year in the program and there's quite a lot of talent ahead of him. I know we've been spoiled with a lot of young players starting early for us, but a team with real depth isn't going to be starting most players until their Junior and Senior years. There's still a chance for this kid to catch on I think, not everyone can come in and pick things up right away, although having a lot of dropped balls is a bit discouraging.

Did I hear that right, ten to fifteen pounds heavier, 4.39 sec 40, and a 40 plus inch vertical jump?

That would be a good day for Superman!

Woah, Nellie!

in an article on 247....it sure sounds like HOLMES' dad played a very big part in keeping him at ND and understanding the role BK wanted for him but needed him to redshirt last year...he was kinda of pissed watching younger guys take his reps but it was part of BK's plan and his dad helped corey to see this and now is paying off

You could get that vibe Holmes was on the fence about staying, especially after some reports saying he fell behind on the depth chart last year. Glad he stuck it out.

After the bowl game when we would talk about who could/would be one of the biggest offensive surprises, I don't remember anyone mentioning Corey Holmes; a lot of people mentioned Torii Hunter, ESB, and some of us even thought McKinley had a chance to get a lot of playing time this year.

His 4.39 40 and 41 inch vert during spring testing opened up a lot of eyes and it sounds like he has a pretty good chance to at least be the #4 receiver. I am a fan of Corey Robinson but he better be looking over his shoulder because there are a lot of receivers behind him that are faster, more athletic, and more committed to the program that will take his spot in a heartbeat.

Hunter-ESB-Holmes-Sander, that is a lot of damn speed to cover

Plot Twist: Corey Holmes is a Will Fuller clone.

Let the man use that speed and vertical to go deep and win the deep ball.

At the very least, he could be the once-or-twice-per-game deep pass that Chris Brown was before his senior year.
