As in ramped up to a new level?
No, as in there was way less "blatant" use of PEDs.

Less blatant = same level, just not as obvious?

Turley’s conditioning initiatives in the Stanford football program have dramatically reduced player injury rates. From 2006-2013, there was an 87 percent decrease in the number of games missed because of injury on Stanford’s roster. Turley joined the football program in 2007
then last year he was promoted to oversee the entire sports dept at stanford....maybe the women's golf team wasn't down with doping??

If someone can get this photo to come up I think it fits in with the discussion happening here, even though it's regarding a receiver from Ole Miss...
Shannon Turley arrived at Stanford in 2006 as part of the rescue mission led by Jim Harbaugh to save Stanford football. After 12 seasons Turley and Stanford parted ways with confirmation Monday that he no longer works at Stanford.
Stanford would not comment about why Turley was let go because it's a personnel matter; just as there was no explanation provided more than two months ago when he was placed on administrative leave Feb. 4.
Multiple sources told Cardinal Sports Report that there was an issue brought to Stanford's attention involving a former player. There were no details beyond that as the situation was locked up inside the football offices, and the office of athletic director Bernard Muir, in the Arrillaga Family Sports Center.
Too bad more people don't care about Stanford, if this was a Notre Dame story there would be leaks everywhere and we'd know all the misinformation.

Stanford-USC game next week should be interesting. In addition to what appeared to be a major injury to J T Daniels K J Costello also got hurt yesterday (what's with these Cali QB's and initials instead of names?).
Costello missed the 2nd half after getting a forearm to the face on a sack. Walker Little, Stanford's stud LT also went down late on what looked like a severe knee injury.
Stanf held NW to 210 yds total offense but I wouldn't put it all on great defense. Hunter Johnson stunk. He was pulled for another QB (Green) who got hurt so Johnson went back in.
Stanford's got to have the quietest crowd in CFB. Really a contrast when you flip back and forth to other games on TV.
Yep. Both those guys are quiet af.
If both starters are out next week, Stanford has a huge advantage. Tree has a 5* JR back up in Mills while SC has a 3* Fr from my daughter's HS in Kedon Slovis. . . unless JT's injury is REALLY serious and he can coax Jack Sears out of the transfer portal.

Starting LT Walker Little is out for the season.

Stanford is teetering on the edge of no longer being a "power." They're a soft, poorly coached team now despite an offense littered with 5-stars. And many of those top rated players are a year or two from being gone.
In 2018 their class ranked 40th, 2019 it was 21st, and this year it's 27th. There is a very reasonable chance they finish with 5+ losses at which point they're one more mediocre season away from total irrelevance. Once they're more closely associated with 7-5 style seasons than competing for PAC12 championships their nationwide recruiting will dry up and that will do wonders for Notre Dame. This difference between Notre Dame classes being "good" and "elite" is basically a handful of players like Adebo.
And just like that, Walter Rouse becomes the smartest guy in the room. For him, it came down to Stanford and ND, he chooses the Trees and (barring injury) becomes a 3yr starting LT and a Top 10 NFL draft pick.
