The word "magic" on any shirt worn by a man is questionable. I like the design, but the phrase turns me off. Reminds me of all the T-shirts at Disney saying "I'm so fly I Neverland" worn by men - just doesn't work for anyone interested in women, IMO.

Visitor tunnel is classic - now if they can keep the visitor locker room remodel to nothing more than a urine smelling fuscia paint job we are all set.

Well played!

I pegged him as more the type to sound like he is jizzing his pants when Darth Vader shows up at Hollywood Studios. Interesting crowd.

Good break week with the kids - Jedi Training for the younglings is a must.

You think that looks like fascist architecture? The architecture per the design team took inspiration from the Collegiate Gothic style and melled components of the original stadium and new modern styling. There isn't anything fascist about this except that the original stadium was built at a similar time to when fascism was on the rise in Europe lmao.

I also searched for any reference to this being fascist and the only thing I came up with was an obscure blog with one mention by a rather vapid blogger pissed off about the project in total. It sounds alot like your posts TBH.

Examples of Collegiate Gothic Architecture

It's almost like you don't know what you are talking about and just regurgitate alt right propaganda.

maybe I missed some of this exchange...but what does a dislike for certain architecture have to do with alt right, far left, center, normal right, and normal left. I don't agree with him either...just missing the political play here is all.

Don't give $warbrick any ideas...it is a giant, ugly, obnoxious mess that puts one in mind of fascist architecture, as Fr. Bill Miscamble of the history department pointed out. (One difference is that at least fascists occasionally won things.) It is also making it a huge pain to get around campus to go to classes.

I'm curious. Do you wake up in the morning and think about what you'll bitch about for the day or do you create a "Things To Bitch About" list for the week?

Architecture and politics have gone hand in hand for all of human history!

Look at what the campus was originally building, what happened to campus as the campus moved away from its roots in the 60s-80s, and what has happened since the shift to a more corporate model lately. You can tell a lot about who was in charge.

Now your personal take on the architecture may not line up with your politics, but politics and architecture often go together. Not always, but often, especially when the powers that be have cash on hand.

And I agree that teh renovations looks more new york gothic, like Yankee Stadium, than "Fascist."

The only upside to this, is somebody will be able to actually tell your kids The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise, and it'll actually be the first time they're hearing about it.

For every feminist screaming about equality with a vagina hat on, there's an ndgradstudent screaming accusations of fascism at all of the buildings on campus.

Crazy world we live in...

Right. He was the one that assigned the term "fascist" to the architecture...not me. And as I referenced in my original response, I tried to search for who or what would consider that to be fascist and I find a single blogger who was bitching about the whole project. No other reference was to that description (so in essence no one else on the planet has made that description that the google machine could find). Further I add the alt right becasue politically, the alt-right (whihc NDgradstudent is most definitely sympathetic to their platform) are essentially neo-fascists. So the irony of him bitching about fascist architecture when fascism lines up with his self-professed political views is impressive ( and hilarious) to say the least. SO true to form he makes some random complaint and then tries to argue it from some random alt-right blogger like Steve Siler (he has done the so many times I can t keep up becasue apparently i am the only one who checks his links when he posts them). I call him on it yet the behavior persists.

Yeah. That confused me as well. Which made Wooly's reply funny too.

Typically not a lot of daylight between the militant feminists and the new anti-fascists.

But I'm sure the alt-right doesn't see itself as actually facist, right?

Maybe they can all agree with the alt-right that we don't need any more of this (thanks Mussolini!):

So, reading thru here I am supposed to believe the house that Knute built is now the Reichstag 2.0? So our team highlights for 2017 will be called Triumph of the Fighting Irish Will?

I took the original comment as coming from an ND "liberal" prof complaining about the architecture looking fascist. That made much more sense to me and I didn't attribute that particular statement to the original poster. Perhaps you're interpretation was clouded by your own political bias...

"A fresh new look". I like it, seems almost familiar. Actually I don't like the white pants without a white element incorporated in the numbers whether it's the body, outline or shadow. There's no connection.

I will say, I've called for the Irish script logo to be a design option since the Shamrock Series began. Looks good as a one off alternative as executed in this mock up.

Well, much better than the turds that were shown before. Not crazy about the shamrock still, but the rest of it is pretty clean. I'd be okay with those.

The UTL 2.0 was our 7th concept. Here's the 4th and 5th, as well:

UANavy2.png

https://www.18stripes.com/notre-dame-football-uniform-concept-2017-under-armour-catalog/

Sort of a what if Under Armour was allowed to make some changes to the standard home uniform.

And for a night game in Dublin.

The top one: All of the yes.

The bottom one: a white lid might look good with white pants, but not sure how you swing that with the white portion of the shamrock. Otherwise, the leotard look might be preferable to the white pants that seem kind of "tacked on."

That's very fair. I wasn't crazy about the white pants in the end either but was not creating a leotard with the first black concept. A few down the road will be black on black though.

If you go with a white helmet, just give the shamrock a black outline,

And I like both of those concepts only because they are polar opposites. First one is very traditional Notre Dame and the 2nd is very not but I've been wanting to see a black ND uniform and the Irish colors are a good take.

I'm sure plenty of people hate both so TIFWIW.
