On defense, really hoping Studstill, Vaughn, MDT, and Troy Pride get a lot of burn this week to get some experience and see what they can do.

I want MDT to get a lot of reps. We're going to need him - we already do and the DL won't stay healthy all year.

On offense, I hope Claypool has his coming out party. He should have built his confidence last weekend. And for Kraemer to continue to improve. Big week for depth here!

Add Stepherson getting some targets and I definitely agree. Hopefully we take care of business early so this can be one of the more valuable games.

Not trying to discount Miami (OH) but we shouldn't let teams like this hang around. It'd be nice to see us boat race a team on the schedule. Surpassing the 60 mark at some point this year would be very pleasing.

I think this is a comfortable win, but I'd lean towards the team easing up a bit earlier than Temple BC and MSU. It just seems like the sort of thing that Kelly would do for his old assistant. ND by 18.

I don't think there's any scenario that BK would run up 60 points on Chuck (unless, God forbid, we needed the points to win....)

I don't see BK embarrassing Chuck, he's going to respect him. If we pull away, expect a lot of back-ups to get some experience. Possibly, the backups could run up the score, but if that happens, I think BK (Long) will go very vanilla.

What was the last year a ND team had their DL remain healthy for the entire season?

Having a DL get injured on any team for that matter is as sure of a bet as ND not having 85 scholarships at the end of the year. This isn't pessimism, it's reality.

I recall ND playing SMU when the Mustangs were just off probation. ND scored around 60 points and Holtz stressed that would be no more scores. I believe it was Rusty Setzer, a 3rd or 4th string RB, who then broke loose bound for the end zone but ran out of bounds around the SMU 3 with no defender around him. He was interviewed after the game and asked why he ran out of bounds. "Coach said, 'Anyone who scores from here on will not be playing in the future.' I want to play again."

I wouldn't lump Studstill in with that group. He's played substantially more snaps than those guys and played well.
