Woke up to see another new thread on elevenwarriors about Notre Dame. LOL.

I'm not sure if this ointment is strong enough, they may need prescription strength.

Best post in that thread:

Anybody who down votes this does not understand the pressure that can be put on an athlete by his religious affiliation to attend a school operated by them. When I was at OSU we had a quite talented recruit that was threatened with excommunication by his priest if he chose OSU over ND. Ended up coming to OSU thank goodness, but did leave the church for another denomination. Don't ever underestimate the pressure to stay within your faith when being recruited by schools supported by your religious affiliation.

A priest cannot excommunicate a Catholic. It has to come from the Pope or a bishop, in conjunction with the Pope.

And you can't be excommunicated for not going to a Catholic university. It has to be a grave sin.

Then again, going to O$U over ND falls into that category.

I thought it was funny that someone thought St. Iggy's could be anyone but Jesuit. And then the idiot that talked about some prospect being threatened with excommunication for picking OSU? Does anyone really believe this shiit?

But I do see the logical rational, intelligent and even-minded fans chiming in. That is more along the lines of what I am used to; after all I remember a day when most of the fans I knew of either school were fans of both!

I don't know about that. But writing on a public forum, and making public the lack of intellegence some of these users posess certainly is a grave sin!

1. He wants to be Jesus
2. He's a rich kid from a Catholic school that doesn't want to associate with poor kids at OSU
3. He lacks competitive fire because national championships duh

Also, did you know that ND has been irrelevant for 25 years? Despite playing in a national championship game in 2012? And commanding multiple threads on their site at any given time?

Also, did you know that OSU and ND are academically comparable?

Did you know that ND grads are all big-headed and often get turned down for jobs because of how high-maintenance they can be?

Did I touch them all?

WHERE IS YOUR PURPLE FACE?

I liked the one where they said they felt bad for him because he'll be home watching OSU play for championships when ND doesn't get invited to a bowl game. Hmm, that sounds kind of like, huh, 2012 maybe?

Also, these guys all have short memories. OSU got curbstomped in 2006 and 2007 as badly as we did in 2012. Was OSU suddenly "irrelevant for the past x decades"? Did that freaking matter when they beat down Bama in the playoffs this last year?

Eichenberg signed with Notre Dame last weekend. His visit to OSU this past weekend was wasted time. His mind was already made up, how could 100,000 people in Ohio Stadium not be impressive enough to change his mind? Let him go to South Bend, enjoy your time at a school that didn't even open up their spring game to the public. That's a great example of community involvement over there. Maybe he's a kid who'll enjoy Coach Kelley sccreaming in his face for 4 years - if Kelly lasts that long.

From elevenwarriors....

Wow...the mindset of a number of those people.

So, his choice of school should depend on the number of people who show up for the spring game, thinks that we closed our spring game without reason, and is still lost on "purple face" memories even though Urbie sad pizza happened more recently?

This along with the other items categorized by Lion earier...SMDH

These guys won a NC just a few months ago, right? They realize one of their own players talked about not being there to "play school" yet think they will get an equal or better edjumkation at pOSU.

Wow...just wow

Plus the fact that they really only played 3-4 meaningful games last year...and the loss wan't one of them. Or that they didn't get by Sparty by that much and didn't get by them at all the season before, but all they seem to worry about is scUM (aka TTUN to them)

PLUS...I don't see one acknowledgement of sanctions/improprieties when discussing recent history #tattooU

I love how he "signed" with Notre Dame. Talk about Harry Hiestand's ability to lock a kid up. He even got an early signature prior to EE and NSD.

Didn't pay attention to that! Shows the mercenary mentality off quite nicely, doesn't it?

tOSU fans think we'd be a middling team in the B1G. I know they believe they help bring the average up but they seriously act like their program and conference is now untouchable. Ha ha, I really can't wait to see them falter in the future.

And I can't wait for Urbie to get caught up in some dirtiness.

Now who was that team who ended their undefeated 2013 season? Oh yeah, we beat them with Tommy Rees.

They've let IU play them tough in back to back seasons and we aren't talking basketball.

I guess as soon as you win a national title you are the Holtz Irish, the 80's Hurricanes or the 90's Cornhuskers. In reality, they were closer to the '85 Villanova Wildcats.

Now you guys get a taste of what I deal with on a daily basis...and those who live or have lived here can vouch that it's a daily thing.

You literally have trouble debating because they say the most outrageous things.
