I would love to see us come out and be up 21 or more early in the 3rd period that way we can get Ian Book some reps. I think if we play like we can we should win this game 30-14 or 40-14 somewhere in that range. I'd like to see us crate some turnovers and get 3-5 sacks.

Okay, what are everyones thoughts on the first play and series?

I'm thinking the first play will be a run off the left side to set the tone. I'm also thinking if we pick up a first down on the first series, it will be run, run, run with a short pass sprinkled in to keep the LB's and SS from creeping in.

Timeout, false start, incomplete WR bubble, run for 3 yards, Kraemer gives up 7 yard sack, 27 yard punt, purple face.

First play of the game, they will go for it all and it will end up as an INT. No worries though, ND goes on to win by 35

Long calls a run play that goes for 3 yards. Kelly decides he's seen enough and takes back control of the offense. After burning a TO to get set up, we go five wide and hit some big plays downfield, but ultimately only come away with a FG./s

Being up 21 is nothing near close to start bringing in your backups. That can quickly get turned into a nail biter. This is Wimbush's first time when he is the head man of the offense. He will play the entire game to get his own reps unless ND is up 35.

First play:

1. Line up in pistol
2. Fake a stretch handoff to the left
3. Wimbush rolls right with zero pressure in his face
4. Wimbush uncorks the deep throw
5. EQ runs under it after blowing by the corner and safety, scores
6. Jumbotron explodes as a video celebrates the 80-yard TD pass
7. ?????
8. Profit

Yes, I think everyone would like to see that. Let's hope we hit the gas out of the gate.

First play- 4 TE set. Looks like jumbo run package, then audible to a 4 TE detached look.
Temple calls a TO and heads back to the locker room.

My god that would be beautiful.

It's funny because ND could do it, ala Stanford, and it wouldn't be terrible at all.

Line up two in-line, and two behind them as wings and/or one in the backfield as a fullback.

Shift.

Send Alize and Kmet out wide, with Smythe and Wright lined up inside.

Delay of game... followed by a timeout just before another delay of game... followed by a simple off tackle for one yard.

There will be a TD of more that 35 yards on ND's first possession.

I'm going to say 43 to be exact.

In the BK era, the season opener has typically been a harbinger of how good or bad that season would end up. The two most comfortable openers were blowout wins of Navy in 2012 & Texas in 2015 which led to BKs two best seasons at ND & his only seasons with double-digit wins.

So what do you need to see in the opener vs Temple to feel good about the season ahead?

Wait till the market speaks when Georgia comes to town & half the stadium is red from UGA fans. Thats all we'll hear about...unless ND pulls off a win.

I just spin it that despite idiot SEC fans who swear ND is irrelevant they are still dumb enough to pay 10x's face value to watch their team play a an irrelevant program that happens to be the furthest road game in recent memory. And ND fans will happily take their money.

Keep and eye on the Weather.

Keep and eye on the Weather.

The Weather Channel's Long Range Weather forecasts a nice day for the Temple game.

Mostly Sunny
79°/59°
Precip 10% Wind SSE 9 mph Humidity 64%

HOWEVER, The National Hurricane Center's 1 am Advisory 5 Day Forecast "PROJECTS" Harvey to be north of Memphis at 7 pm Friday Night and in the vicinity of Land Between The Lakes by Game Time. Harvey is expected to be around Louisville around 7 pm Saturday with South Bend on the boundary of the cone. It may not impact the game but it could be nasty for the day trippers trying to get home especially those heading east. The NHC projects the storm heading NE along a line from Memphis, L'ville, to Columbus.
