I’m going with a buddy (Purdue grad) who lives in Floyds Knobs, IN (Louisville burb). He been to a few games and says the atmosphere is great, no Purdue breakfast club but fun nevertheless. So we’re just going to wing it and see how blasted we can get w/o getting into a fight.

Heard many a story about the Breakfast Club from my boys. Not that they would ever partake! lol

Good ol' Floyd Knobs. I remember the "Super Hicks" when they made the state finals back in '71. Their names escape me, but IIRC they had a couple of very good players on that team ssurrounded by a pretty good supporting cast.

When your team isn't good tailgating is the one thing they have to latch onto

This. I got damn near blackout before the VT game in 2016.

That was the only way I could prepare myself to enter the stadium after already wasting $200 on a pair of tickets to watch that *hit product.

That game was a real shame the way it ended. VT put that illegal hit to Kizer that didn't get called, and he got escorted off the field for concussion protocol. As he's leaving one of the VT defenders was talking trash, which was just classless. It was nice we returned the favor last year and absolutely embarrassed them at home in front of their fans and Metallica.

Yeah their fans weren't the greatest either. We blew a 17-0 lead IIRC. I was happy we took it too 'em last year too.

That ESPN production, I think it was almost 15 minutes of coverage, for that Enter Sandman was ridiculous as well.

Louisville should be a fun atmosphere. Football is back, it's a night game, and I'm sure the new coaching staff will give a few of the diehards a little optimism to keep it interesting prior to kickoff. Their fans were pretty cool in 2014 in SB.

Jawon "Puma" Pass named L'ville's starting QB. Two year starter, but he was replaced by Cunningham during last year's debacle.

Cunningham is their leading returning rusher. Satterfield's App State teams were know for their rushing so I'm a little surprised Pass won the job.

I think Cunningham has been battling injury if I recall.

I assume BK will have his presser at noon today?

Not any surprises, except maybe Shaun Crawford listed as a starter opposite Pride. I'm sure he'll primarily be in the slot, meaning Griffith OR Vaughn comes on to play outside if they aren't in a base 2-CB alignment. Then I'm guessing Bracy comes on to play slot CB when they want to limit Crawford's reps, which I'm guessing will be pretty often.

5 guys are going to play at CB, and they're all going to play a lot.

A little surprised/disappointed not to see Simon or JGH on there. But having that level of talent in the three-spot is the definition of a first-world problem.

Also: McKinley! I hope he makes some things happen out there.

BK talking up Louisville's QB and WR corps, as well as their LT who is going to be an NFL draft pick... gotta keep the troops motivated for a *good* opponent.

Also talking up their defense, which played well early last year. They are big and physical.

It says McKinley has one year of eligibility left, he's not eligible for a fifth year? I would have sworn he sat out at least one year.

BK did just mention Simon and JGH in the presser so they could still be in line for playing time. Sounds like more of a show me on the field in a competitive game type of situation.

Pretty surprised with the lb depth
For sure i thought it would have read
Buck: Bilal and Buck
Mike: White and Simon

Bauer had not been mentioned that much during camp in the content I viewed

If we read into it, we should expect Louisville to run a lot. Bauer is deployed when we are facing the triple option, run-heavy teams.

I hope Simon is fired up and ready to take that position by midseason.

The big guy is listed at 369lbs. Hopefully he’s got some quickness to go with that size, he’s going to need it.

A lot of quickness. I would love to see him get beat on the first pass attempt, so he starts worrying right out of the gate. lol

Like Jafar doing KR. We could use a boost there.

Was surprised to see Kyren back there with him. Excited to see what he can do. Imagine he filled Young's spot. Still a bit surprised to see Keys or Lenzy didn't get a look with the game-breaker speed.

Unrelated, didn't we go after Russ Yeast, Louisville's starting SS? What was the deal on that--too late to the party?

Just spit-balling, but I wonder how much it has to do with ball security. C.J. Sanders was dynamic at both KR and screens offensively but in '16 he had some serious ball security issues with both. Maybe he doesn't trust Lenzy yet, and doesn't want to lose another WR, hence no Keys?
