But to be fair Vanderdoesnt has been doing very well for himself at UCLA... Much to our chagrin
Does anyone have any idea how Hoge has been in practices this year?

Great. Notre Dame loves his development and there I think you could see him move to guard if Mustipher is as good as they think to get the best five/six in the rotation.
Would anybody else not mind seeing a change at RG? Maybe flip McGlinchey to LT and Bars to RT? But then who would take Elmers spot? Probably won't happen but just curious on others thought of flipping McGlinchey and maybe replacing Elmer? I think Elmer is solid but not as great as many predicted he would be
Depends. Who do you start at C next year? I think Hoge should get the job. But if he doesn't move Hoge to Guard?
Mustipher

With the embarrassment or riches we have of talented, huge offensive linemen, why haven't we tried something a la Stanford with a jumbo goal line set? once we are 5 yards within the goal line, send out 7 Offensive linemen, a TE and Luatua in the backfield, and Josh Adams in the backfield.
He'd force Nelson or Elmer to the bench?
No offense GB, but if you mean by this that Elmer would be benched then you clearly don't know Coach Kelly or Hiestand. A true senior is not going to be benched.
Edit: if you did not mean this, then pardon me.

Elmer graded out at 98.4% --- second on the line to McGlinchey.
Boggles me as to what some people want.
As to next year's OLine and rotation: {{opinion based on play plus coaches commentaries}}
LT: Bars or McGlinchey starts
LG: Nelson starts
C: Mustipher or Hoge or Bivin starts [all have gotten regular praise, and Bivin showed out well at center in the HS All-star game, having athleticism and smarts --- just like they're trying Big Tommy now.]
RG: Elmer Starts
RT: McGlinchey or Bars starts.
Idealized three men backing up the five starters: The two potential centers who don't win the Center competition, plus McGovern.
The "other two" rotational OLinemen who are not first choices for "next man in": ? who knows, but there are few choices, since it won't be a freshman, even Kraemer, and it won't be Montelus, who seems not to fit. {I have an insane thought of using Montelus as an H-Back a la Luatua, blocking Fridge-like at the goal-line.}
Because Kelly's offense doesn't put the wboc under center. So the bring I the 2 tight ends in sometimes to get some what of that concept.
Next Five Offense
1. Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder five-star offensive tackle Tommy Kraemer, a Notre Dame commit, has been the best East offensive lineman both days of practice but really hit his stride Tuesday morning. In the run blocking drill he was very physical at the point of attack and was able to get a push against a very talented West d-line on nearly every snap. Kraemer teamed up with fellow five-star tight end Isaac Nauta to really pave the way on the right side. The nation’s No. 2 offensive tackle according to 247Sports also has long arms and the largest hands of any offensive lineman here in Texas and he uses both well in pass protection. You can tell Kraemer has been well coaches as the offensive line coach rarely has to talk with him.
It will come down to Mustipher and Hoge and IMO while most have Mustipher pegged for the job I think it could be a battle that goes into fall camp
Agreed. I think Mustipher vs Hoge will be the only real battle we will see throughout the Spring and Fall. All of the spots are pretty much locked up. I guess you could say Bars and McGlinchey will be in a battle for the LT spot but the loser of that will just get moved to RT.
Why not keep McGlinchey on the right side of the line and put Bars on the left side just to set the chemistry of the line early on?

I am not so sure that will be the only battle along the line this offseason. There is a lot of talent waiting to play with open spots along the line.
Statistically speaking, McGlinchey had a better year than Ronnie Stanley who could go in the top 3 in the draft. Big Mike has the ability to allow zero pressure coming from the QB's blind side and that is huge. Also, both McGlinchey and Nelson have nasty mean streaks and the thought of those two on the left side of the line is awesome.
We seem to already have Ronnie's and Martin's replacement. What other open spots are there?
