They have a pretty good d-line and it should be a good week 1 test for our offense. Actually, their whole defense will be a good week 1 test for Rees.

They have nothing to write home about on offense.

That's an understatement. Duke's OFEI in 2019 was 109th. They had one of the worst offenses in the country last year.

I don't really care about names, but can you share what position group was most impacted, and how many of the 6 are now clear?

Defensive line. At one point, they barely had enough bodies to run practice correctly. The issue wasn’t just people catching it and having symptoms, it was living situations where players were forced to quarantine for 14 days after being exposed.

That’s not what I was expecting to read. I was guessing receiver group.

Wild that we'll be seeing ND take a 1st quarter timeout in just a few more days. NGL, didn't think we'd get here

lol i remember before the Iowa State game we debated on here whether Tommy and BK would need a TO before the first snap like what happened in one of Tommy's games at QB :D

Are we good to go there now?

I know of at least one WR that tested positive, but that group has generally been fine. The thing that the WRs need the most is Kevin Austin back and 100%.

As to Duke's offense: it "probably" won't be electric, but that new QB transferred out of Clemson to get out from the shade of Lawrence, so it's a question as to how good he could be. Also, I think that their good head coach is taking over play-calling (?). If so, then let's not assume a pushover on that side of the ball.

With the way this year has been I totally don’t feel the same butterflies for the season as I normally do for week one. I hope we can make the best out of a unique year and hopefully have one that’s been as good as the last 3. Either way go Irish.

Thanks Lax. I had heard DL and WR, and maybe DB.

That's concerning given that it's usually very hard to gain weight during the season.

I knew you'd show up the minute Whiskey posted a show tune pic

Agree on the concern. Hope it wasn't our middle stuffers.

There is one player on the DL who was going to play a lot and got it bad and very well may not end up playing at all this year. COVID is no joke. Sometimes it doesn't affect you at all, but other people... even young, perfectly healthy people... it can fuck you up. Odds are strongly against you dying/being hospitalized but you can be out of commission or adversely affected for months. Nothing like the flu.
