It's sad that so many of you seem to have battered Cub fan syndrome that you go into opening day not excited for the season but all gloomy as we will lose and no chance for anything good and decent in the world you feel it is time to go cry quietly in the closet for the next 4 months.

Opening day is for hope and renewal and everything will be great feelings...even if your team is crap...and I don't think our team is crap.

Yep, as I have said elsewhere, opening day means I get another four months of watching my favorite team entertain me.

That is a lie straight from the pits of hell.

Us Cub fans always had hope ... for at least the first day .... then we would say "well, there's always next year".

Who calls plays?

This year? No idea.

Last year? Drevno and Pep Hamilton offered suggestions to Harbaugh, but he had ultimate authority on the play call.

It seems like it's going to be a clusterfuck. That article is from July, so I have to believe that Harbaugh has some more boundaries for who has play-call input. But still, that seems like a potential trainwreck to not have one person calling the shots.

Harbaugh calling spread plays will be interesting for sure (if they are in the playbook as rumored)

Do any of his coaches have spread experience except for Warriner at OSU? Pep and Jay Harbaugh have been with him for a while and McElwain is a Saban-product. And how likely is McElwain to be okay with taking orders from a fuckboy like Harbaugh? He's been a HC before and was the OC at Bama.

So much of this offense is an enigma. Rumored spread concepts, no OC, a mishmash of coaches with different pedigrees, a transfer QB who wasn't there in the Spring. It's weird.

Sweet. Baby. Jesus.

Harbaugh always had a "familiar" look to me but I could not pin it until a few moments ago. "Revenge of the Nerds" (1984). Lewis aka Spaz.

Too old and stupid to embed, but there are distinct similarities and it goes way beyond the glasses... overall look, mannerisms, etc.

I saw the movie when it was originally released... I'm old. Love the "Spaz" character... Harbaugh... not so much.

Would appreciate comparison pictures from advanced users. Reps included!

Cheers and Go Irish!

Apparently Harbaugh was quoted as saying "It's going to be a great year"

How is Michigan's kicker? What distance do they have confidence in him with?

https://www.clickondetroit.com/all-about-ann-arbor/hail/ranking-michigan-footballs-10-most-important-players-in-opener-vs-notre-dame#/questions

Last season: 19-24 field goals with a long of 55 yards

After redshirting as a true freshman, Nordin's first year as Michigan's starting kicker was a success. He converted nearly 80 percent of his attempts and proved he has plenty of leg to connect from 50 yards and beyond.

Michigan, like most teams, has had trouble with clutch kicks in important road games. But Nordin was pretty reliable when it mattered most in 2017. He made two kicks from longer than 50 yards against Florida, converted both attempts in an overtime win against Indiana and went a perfect 4-4 in the bowl game against South Carolina.

If Michigan's offense struggles to complete drives, as it has since Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor, Nordin needs to make sure to put points on the board.

I just got wildly concerned about Michigan OL holding all game and it not being called.
