Some sort of Time Continuum Rift Vortex kinda thingy?

A S'more?

A Slinky – Play-Doh shootout?

Run with it.

I couldn't pass it up.

In a way i'm not really worried about this game, we have played well against Michigan St being the underdog the past few years. Vegas has us favored. They like to run about 70% of the time.

Dantonio is BK's bitch.

Can't wait to see EQ and Torii make that press man-coverage look like a bag of asses.

Tommy Rees did it, DeShone gon' do it.

Also interested to see the linebackers attacking a traditional run game. I think it plays to Morgans' and Coney's strengths, and should make things a bit easier on our DL in terms of getting to obvious pass-rush situations. Still don't know about the secondary, thought, aside from feeling good about Studstill in run support.

Damn i'm AMPED for this game! It is soooo huge for ND, and with a solid win, it gives us an opportunity to make some moves in the rankings as well.

In addition to us possibly knocking off #12 MSU at night, in OUR HOUSE,

1 Alabama vs 15 Ole Miss
2 FSU vs 10 Louisville
3 Ohio St playing 15 Oklahoma
7 Standford vs USC (never know with these two, maybe an upset for us)
15 Texas A&M vs Auburn (possibility of an update??)

Not to mention was a huge recruiting weekend this is for us!!!

LETS F***ING GO IRISH!!!

My concern is typical freshman safety playing heavy run being susceptible to play action pass. We know it wont be a really high scoring game and it only takes a couple of those freshman cover mistakes to be long scores.

I don't worry about Studstill as much as I do Tranquill/Sebastian.

Studstill can come up and lay the wood, but against Nevada he seemed to be where he was supposed to be throughout the game.

Tranquill and Sebastian are the ones that are toast if they are a step slow when turning and running.

I also expect BK to be fully prepared for any trickery... MSU killed us with it from '07-'10, but since then, it seems like ND has stopped MSU's yearly attempt at a double-reverse or reverse-pass. As long as Nyles knows what he's looking at, and as long as Cole Luke can communicate with the guys behind him, we should be good in that regard.

If Lamar Jackson blows up for 600 yards against FSU, give him the Heisman.

Dude is awesome. I've seen some weapons on offense, but he's one of the best so far.

Reesus smite...smited...cast down the Spartans on two occasions.
DeShone better beat MSU by 50.

.
.

And they'll play a lot because they are - theoretically at least - good run defenders.
Need a big night for the linebackers. If we run Coney, Morgan and Onwualu out there I like our odds.
Corner though. Can Coleman tackle better than he covers?

I like EQ but I am not at all confident he is physical enough to beat press coverage yet.

That's gotta be the case almost by default at the moment, right?

We're gonna find out how physical Vaughn and Love can be, too.

I think his size will help. Even if he gets jammed up at the line, as long as he can get down field in some way-shape-form, DeShone is gonna be able to toss a few 50/50 balls up his way, and I'm excited to see how those battles go.

Not only is DeShone better than Tommy in basically every respect at this point (and I'm gonna fight the IE orthodoxy and say Tommy was a half decent QB in 2013), but I think the WR corp is a step up from 2013. The only member of that year's WR corp that would be a starter this year is TJ Jones. RB's are definitely better this year too.

Since TE's receive the ball they are receivers and Niklas was better than the current crop of TE's and most WR's, in fact he's the only true TE that ever had a decent season under Kelly at TE.

...and Daniels had 50/750yds while Jones was pulling in 70/1100ish and Niklas was at 30/500ish. I think I'd take Daniels over this years #2 wideout. The dif this year will be YRC as a pure slot. '13 had no answer for that as Jones was used all over.
