Meh. Four of the five worst teams lost. The middle tier teams struggled. The top teams won easily. 10-4 opening weekend with the worst teams showing us why they're bad. Only surprise for me was finding out UT was even worse than expected... and I wasn't expecting much.

But SEC fans claim the SEC is brutal top to bottom.

Soooo, as a potential booster, whom do I make the check out to?

I know it didn't work out for Tennessee, but that's "kind of your jam." The formula for winning is less travel, lower admission requirements and bag men. Or bag laddies.

It's mostly scheduling, but cmon-- Week 1 is an annual pull out the checkbook and buy a win day down South.

SEC fans should own it. I've got a five year old niece with less delusion.

Queue the silence.

SEC fans bring on the blowback themselves when they tout their greatness (b/c Bama & Georgia) and then lay an egg like week one. TBH, SEC (even the low tier teams) usually fare well in openers against P5 schools. For USCe to lose to UNC is inexcusable IMO.

That being said, the pendulum typically swings the other way sooner rather than later. I think they have a nice bounce back week w/ impressive wins over Texas and a close enough loss from Clemson that leads Arkansas, Ole Miss, MSUso, Mizzou, UT, USCe & KY fans to revile in the fact that the 4th or 5th best team in the SEC almost beat the best team in the ACC.

I like how they reference his pregame locker room antics before the Citrus Bowl vs ND. How’d that work out for them?

SEC record against P5 conference teams 5-5 plus wins over Independents ND, NM State and loss to BYU.

Big 10 -- 3-5 Additionally, wins over Independents UMass, Army
B12 -- 4-4
Pac 12 -- 5-3 Also, wins over Independents BYU (x2), NM St and loss to BYU
ACC - 3-6. Also, Independents - win over Liberty, two losses to ND

If ND is the only P5 team, records are:
SEC 6-5
B10 - 4-4
B12 - 4-4
Pac 12 - 5-3
ACC - 3-8

Should BYU count as a Power 5 opponent?

Anyone watching Florida vs Missouri? Missouri just got jobbed on one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen to take an interception away. Wow.

Both players have hands on the ball, then going to the ground the Missouri player ends up with it. At no point did the Florida player come remotely close to have possession or completing a catch. A ref came in and overruled others to call “simultaneous possession” and then it stood on review.

Poetic justice. Yesterday Ole Miss mounted a 4th quarter comeback against Miss. St. and scored a TD with 4 seconds left in the game to pull within 1 point. The receiver who caught the TD then imitated a dog by crawling on the ground in the end zone and raising his leg as if he was urinating. The refs flagged it as unsportsmanlike. That moved the extra point attempt back 15 yards, making it a 35 yard attempt for the tie... which the kicker then missed.

Nice job dipshit. Your showboating likely cost your team the game, or at least the opportunity to win it in overtime. Dabo would've made him ride back on the bus with the equipment managers and Saban would've screamed at him until he cried and needed therapy and demoted him to the practice squad.

I assumed everyone saw that live. Epic finish between two bad teams. The same idiot who ‘pissed’ away the win called for a fair catch as a punt returner....after he caught the punt.

No offense to our resident Bama fans but watching them lose a second game in a season is a euphoric event.

Wonder if this will lead to the programs who can manage it to have a second set of workout equipment and the like for the Covid positive players only. That way if they are symptom free and able to, they can still work out.

My concern is more to the fact that I believe the schools will really have to consider each player when they actually get fall exams before actual practicing starts. Since the virus is looked at as cardiovascular issues, the concerns go up even more simply due to the extreme conditioning the players go through. Throw in those players who may have preexisting childhood conditions and the likelihood that some players - even some elite players - may be lost for the season before it even begins. I would bet that the NCAA puts some pretty extreme conditions in place on schools to try and prevent potential liability issues.

With all that said, I do believe the players being back on campus has it's upside. They can be monitored and receive much better medical care.

Article on si.com says SEC moving closer to a conference only schedule for this year. The opening sentence of the article made me laugh.

For years, SEC fans have clamored for fewer games against lower-level squads and more big-time matchups with opponents of their own teams’ stature.
