The fact that even SEC skools are taking disciplinary action against their players just goes to show how out of control FSU is. Though, TBF, it's not like UT has anything to play for this year anyway.

I'm not taking this kid's side, nor Mullen's. Just wondering if all the facts are out. If Mullen got a commitment from a better player and decided he didn't need this kid, then pulling the scholly was not a good idea. OTOH, if Virgil was taking other visits and not 100% committed to MSU, or had some issues with attitude or behavior, Mullen may have had a legit reason. Who knows? Mullen and MSU can't comment on the situation, but we may discover there was a lot more to it than just getting dumped at the last minute, or we may find Mullen really did screw Virgil over.

The Scoop - FootballScoop

For any Kelly rumors to Fla as well:

Florida: Pat Dooley, long-time Gainesville reporter who has the best feel for what is happening at Florida, writes this morning that none of Brian Kelly, Bob Stoops or Mike Gundy will be the next head coach at Florida. If you saw our mailbag from Friday you heard the same from Scott.

They came into the SEC at a great time. The traditional SEC-E powers, UF, UT, and USC have all been down to varying degrees of late. Missouri was pretty bad near the end of their Big 12 time and their first year in the SEC. They've stepped it up a couple of notches over the last two years.

Yea, but Big 12 North may have been the worst division in college football

Saw a stat the Missouri has only beaten 1 SEC team with a winning record in the last two years while winning the division twice.

You can bend stats anyway you want to tell whatever story you want. The above is obviously because the SEC is so good...somehow??? APac could probably explain it to us.

I believe Mizzou has two or three wins the last two years against SEC teams with winning records. As Bishop stated, they have done a good job winning their division at a time when a lot of the divisional teams in the East have been down. Kudos to them for taking advantage of it. And their win yesterday was impressive as were their front seven on defense.

As far as how good or bad the SEC is in football.... well, isn't much of an argument there. And anyone who tries to make the argument that the SEC isn't the best conference either doesn't know football very well or lets their hatred overtake their ability to analyze teams, divisions, conferences.

Beating Arkansas =/ a good win

The SEC is always in the conversation for best conference in CFB. But this is a down year for the conference. Alabama is the only team that's really elite.

Arkansas is a pretty solid team. Finishing where they did in the SEC West is not indicative of how good they are. And they would be favored over a lot of teams in the running for their division titles. I even bet they would be favored over ND on a neutral field.

I don't think Bama is elite this year. Maybe the best in the SEC but not like they have been in recent years.

I don't think there's any argument that the SEC isn't down this year. Other than Bama and maybe Miss St. there aren't any teams in the league that are capable of beating anyone on a given day. I'm with Tommy about Bama - I don't think we're elite this year either. We may or may not be the best team in the country (and we'll find out soon enough), but we're not the team we were in 2012 or some of the other recent seasons. At most, I think we're the best of a handful of good but not great teams this year.

Since there's no UGA/GT thread, I'll leave this here.

Is anyone watching this game? That was one of the worst calls in officiating history. It honestly puts that offensive PI call in Tallahassee to shame. UGA is probably gonna steal this one, and I do mean literally.

Are you referring to the "fumble" return?

A lot of close games today making it a boom or bust day for the SEC. Heres hoping Louisville beats UK and Ga Tech beats UGA. Clemson looks to have already handled S Carolina.

We may not have had the season we wanted, but at least we can laugh at the SEC for acting like big shots and yet managing to go 0-4 against the ACC this weekend, including against defending national champion FSU.

Yeah if not for the dumpster fire of the SC game I would be happy with todays games. SEC was 0-4 against ACC and Ole Miss beat Miss St. to eliminate the SEC hopes of getting two teams in the playoff.

I have no idea either way. Didn't look it up just read it after their win. Thought it was odd.

If Bama loses, does the SEC get a team in the playoff?

Not if Mizzou beats the SEC West representative in the SEC 'chip.

If Bama loses today, I think it's gotta be Oregon, FSU, TCU and Baylor (would be OSU, but they're not beating any good teams without Barrett).

But I think it'll be moot, because I think Bama's gonna win.
