The risk isn't worth the reward for ND. IMO, they're better off staying clean and moderately competitive than selling out and paying players in hopes of being dominant.

If ND was involved in anything close to what the article describes, it would already be exposed. Media outlets in the south do not seem interested in exposing college football scandals. ND doesn't have it as easy in the north with Chicago's media looking for a story. The Tribune and Sun Times would love to feed ND football a big shit sandwich.

lol nah college football is fine

And we shouldn't pay college players cuz it will ruin CFB!!!

This was also pretty hilarious:

"The coach won't know exactly when we decide to make that happen, but they've got a good idea. Then we get to see just how damn good a recruiter he really is. I know one of our guys once stopped putting in big bucks, way more than what I do, just because a head coach cussed too much on the team plane. [The coach] was losing anyway, but because he took the Lord's name in vain, that guy was offended by his morality and stopped illegally paying college football players."

It sounds like the author of the article, Steven Godfrey, will be doing an AMA tomorrow. What would you guys want to ask him

He's also about to be on Finebaum at 5

Not worth listening to. Finebaum will just deny everything or justify it because he's got the biggest boner ever for all things SEC.

Yea, thats f-ing sick.

Try going to a high school where you history teacher is the DL coach and works on plays instead of teaching WWII or your biology teacher is the OC who works on plays instead of teaching the Krebb Cycle. Yeah that actually happened. Both were former Clemson players LOL. The athletes in my class did shit for work.

I had a history teacher (who was also my HC) in high school who would just play scouting tapes of opponents right there in class before big games... and I was like one of the few players in his class... in fact, if I remember, I may have been the ONLY one... lol

Even at my boarding school in NH who was in a crappy football conference that had maybe 2-3 players a year go D-1, my math teacher (also head football coach) had 2 out of the 3 whiteboards in his classroom full of football diagrams. He didn't have any clue what he was doing anyway so it didn't really affect his teaching but is kind of amusing looking back on it.

So if it pays $2500 to not go on a visit, what does it pay to manipulate your way out of your binding letter of intent?

I'll tell her to not set a place for you at the table for dinner this Sunday.

You're no longer welcome to break bread with the family.

Haha, I had the same thing, but I wasn't a football player (basketball was my bag), and I remember constantly wondering what the hell we were talking about. Our final was actually about Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

The thoughts from some of my southern collegues...

Must Read ***Interview With A Bag Man**** | SECRant.com

Let's pray to the good Lord above that doesnt happen or we all might be fricked. Remember with Albert Means, Bama got the worst of it but Tennessee and Kentucky got nailed too. In the SEC we out bid each other so if one school goes down we all do

I wish we had a guy like this SO bad.

You can hide it well enough that it can't be proved directly, and that's all that matters. Everyone knows the truth, but you're wasting your time if you put any energy into caring or trying to expose it

Any SEC fan base that claims another program is dirtier than theirs in recruiting are the same ones that claim other fan bases are more redneck than them

That's why after our epic recruiting class when people were throwing out accusations here I would reply "yes we're cheating, and you can't do a fricking thing about it."

That's right Auburn fans, you paid Cam. But guess what? You got away with it. You should rub it in people's noses every day. I know I would.

Ole Miss buying players is like a 12 yr old buying a prostitute. Once they get'em they don't know what to do with'em

I have a hard time understanding what kind of fan wouldn't want their boosters doing this.

Shitty fans? Is it a North vs. South thing?

I've got no problem with it. The key to corruption is making sure it doesn't get out of hand - the NCAA has juuust the right amount of power. If things end up above-board, they bring down the hammer.

I hope OM boosters pay Leo Lewis $50,000 by Labor Day alone

Pretty sure a UGA's bag man's job would mainly consist of paying off the Athens PD

I wonder how much Clowney cost us..

Ha yup. I had a history teacher who wasn't even a coach - he was basically a fan - and all we did was talk hoop on game days and I was the only player in the class. But even worse was that my chemistry teacher was our golf coach and we used to work on our swings in the back of the classroom while he was teaching lol.

I'm not a great athlete, but for a small school in Wisconsin, I was pretty good (honorable mention all-state at RB :)).

I was a decent basketball player (would make starting 5 or be 6th man), but didn't enjoy it as much as football.

I stopped playing basketball after my sophomore year, and just ran track and played football. The basketball coach (history teacher), started to inappropriately single me out in class and treat me differently than anyone else because I didn't play basketball anymore.

It was wildly innapproriate for a teacher to do, but I didn't care and I just talked shit back to him.

But I could have totally gotten him in trouble for it. He was one of those guys who taught to coach.
