I think those two sentences back-to-back are kind of contradictory. It's quite possible that DaVaris and Russell come back and they ARE the best players at their positions, especially considering the fact that there are 5 DBs and three WRs on the field for almost every play.
I didn't hear ISD's Power Hour and didn't need to, to understand the obvious. Kelly said it quite poignantly in his last P.C. "I'll have to think how to reintegrate them."
Nearly a century ago Rockne said:
The secret is to work less as individuals and more as team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best but my best eleven.
Russell is the best CB but probably isn't the best eleven at this point. BVG's defense is working together complementing each other. We opened the season with cumminication issues in the secondary. They worked through that.
Daniels is probably the most talented WR but he he played inconsistent in the past. On the LOS will he be reading the defense in sync with Golson or will he be focused on his next tweet? Recall Shark as a Senior. After a very successful Junior campaign he struggled his first few games of his season season after playing minor league baseball and missing summer workouts. For the first couple of games he broke left while Quinn threw right. He went long while Quinn threw short. Weis had them spend time working together to get them back to the level they were in sync.
