Tonight I will be cracking open some of my homemade oatmeal stout. Brewed it a few onths back, bottled it about a month ago and tried one last night. The carbonation was perfect and tasted identical to The Poet by New Holland. Pretty pumped.

A side note, has anyone tried Rolle Bolle by New Belgium yet? I am a huge NB fan but have received mixed reviews.

Bought some bombers of Misson St. Hef at Trader Joe's for $2 each. Pleased so far with the value to taste ratio of them.

Sierra Nevada Hoptinum.

It is like licking some pine tree sap and then putting a pine cone in your mouth.

Enjoying a local brew called Four Peaks Kiltlifter. Really good.

Best local beer here in the Valley. I usually end up burning out on it, staying away from a few months, then having it on tap somewhere and remembering how great it is.

My favorite AZ brew is San Tan Count Hopula. Just a great beer. Too bad it is only seasonal.

Have close family out in Phoenix so I usually make it out there several times a year. Big fan of this beer, 4 Peaks has relatively good beer all around.

Around these parts, it's summertime in Chicago so the Floyd's has been flowing. Been on a big Revolution Anti-Hero IPA lately, it's fantastic. Solid craft beer artwork too.

Dude, if you drank Kiltlifter exclusively the brain damage would be significant.

Once again, I'll plug SLEEPY DOG for my buddy who is part owner. All the AZ peeps need to try it. I also used to go to Papago quite a bit. If you can think of it, they have it in their freezer. Great place.

I finally hopped on the Floyds bandwagon last weekend. Had my first taste with Gumballhead.

Heretic Evil Twin

It is almost a cross between an amber/red ale and an IPA. Some nice caramel notes, pine, oranges (especially blood oranges), and a light dusting of chocolate. Good but not quite great. It was bottled 3 months ago, so I would love to try a fresh bottle.

Lagunitas SUCKS

Just had one of these myself.

Big news in the NDinMich household, the bar at the end of our block has added one of my favorite beers to it's tap selection. The beer is called D.R.I.P.A. or just simply dripa (it's a double rice ipa, I think it's about 10% abv).

Kuhnhenn DRIPA (Double Rice IPA) - Kuhnhenn Brewing Company - Warren, MI - BeerAdvocate

Now, instead of driving to fill up my growlers (they don't bottle and not a lot of bars carry their beer), I can walk to the bar and get one of my fave's. I've you're ever in the D, look for this beer/brewery.

I had a few pints at the Ale Emporium, didn't find any in a store.

*Trader Joe's in Castleton has a few IPA varieties of 3F, but they are $10 a bomber.

Ha that's the Trader Joes I always go to! Yeah I can still find all the usuals at my local liquor store and Whole Foods but Gumballhead has been on short supply since winter.

Didn't know this stuff was so rare. I'll be in Hammond this weekend, maybe I'll swing by their brewpub and stock up on Gumballhead if they have it.

Get Zombie Dust if they have it. It's THE best. But yeah Chicagoland gets most all the Gumball bottled supply.

Sucks that Munster is so far away from Indy. Seems like Gumballhead has been a little rarer around here too but is always on tap all over. Making a regular pilgrimage to the brewpub is the solution for now, that place is awesome.
