Presser over. Nothing else of note. Hunter took a shot yesterday and got up fine, Riggs is an awesome student and Kaivarre took him under his wing when he arrived, Hegarty will get help with line calls from Martin.

GO IRISH!

That's not uncharted for UND. There was an incident with backup QB Eric Chappell in 1999 with a tutor and a paper. I've posted about in this thread twice back on 8/15/14 when this thread started and again in more detail on 9/17/14 after Fr Jenkins comments to the Faculty Meeting noted in the Observer.

Thanks for sharing again.

I don't know how I missed that on this thread.

I was never a college football player, and even if you were, ever situations is different.

We got some info, let's speculate so Cali can bask in his millions.

Best case scenario:

1st hearing decides punishment, if any. That means cleared by end of Wednesday. Thursday is last full practice I believe, and I imagine Friday is a walk through of sorts. That's not enough time to start against Stanford, but Ishaq and KVR could play situationally for sure I'm guessing. Maybe 15 snaps per? DD is a little tougher. By far our best WR, but he needs at least a week. I'd like to see him get in and get some routes in, but I wouldn't expect much from him. Hardy, KVR to play ST against the Tree??

I didn't realize Riggs is in the accelerated "Executive" MBA program. So he's not only juggling graduate-level courses while playing football, he's cramming two years' worth of MBA courses into one. Much respect for Cody.

Guys, we have some news. Why the hell is it so quiet in here?

Does anyone want to fight?

How did he ever qualify for an SEC school to begin with?

No mas. I'm sorry Koon, I'm just not optimistic that any of them are going to be vindicated as a result of these hearings. The force of the initial presser, the immediate suspensions, and the the time that has elapsed between then and now just leaves me with so much doubt about the outcome. I hope to hell that it goes well and we are discussing your timelines for Stanford....I really do.

I hear ya, I just remain optimistic based on DD being sure he's going to play, KVR seems like a great person, and BK being pissed that they haven't had hearings yet.

We'll know in a week!

And my brother (an Asst. Director in the MBA program) says that he is a really bright kid, who is not just holding his own, but doing very well.

Not 200 yet...
This thread has it all.
Tears, fighting, self discovery and most of all hope.

I honestly haven't read a single page. I posted in it once and I can't believe this thread is gonna be well over 200 pages.

You're assuming the news will be positive and they haven't had their hearings.

Kelly saying that he considered bringing the guys into team meetings in case they were cleared to play next week certainly sounds positive.

Yes...was surprised by that. Not something he would say if he didn't at least think there was a chance some of them would be cleared.

HE GONE:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>BK: Will be sipping drinks on the beach when ND plays TAMU...he said jokingly.</p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/status/515267022452977665">September 25, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

It's very possible he wasn't joking, but not because he's going to hop to another job necessarily. As we've seen in the past, ND is a trying job on a coach both physically, mentally, and probably every other word that ends in "ally." Most ND coaches don't last Paterno-like careers, 10 years seems to be the average for a good coach...and most of these coaches end up retiring after the job or stepping down for health reasons, not moving onto another position. Rockne went 13 before the plane crash, Leahy went 11, Ara went 11, Lou went 11, any other decent coach we had didn't last longer than 5-6. Based on that past history and the fact Kelly is in his 5th year already it's statistically unlikely he makes it to the A&M game. If he DID make it to the A&M game he would actually be the longest tenured coach in ND history.

I posted that on 8/16 LOL. I in no way meant the bus should roll onto these kids, stop, park, and set up camp for 50+ days. At this point, we are beyond ridiculous from a timing perspective. If the investigation truly concluded over a month ago, ND looks more like the federal government than an institution that is concerned about education and integrity. I'm sure info could come out that might change my mind, but again, if the investigative portion completed that long ago... no excuse for taking this long to get some people together in the same room and making a few decisions.

I'm a random reader poster...:)
