BK's comments lead me to believe that he has obviously been informed that at least some of the players will be cleared.

This has been a clusterfuck from the word go from this administration. If they are not cleared and lose Saturday and then reinstated in a week or so, that would be an absolute travesty. What is the over/under for how many days once the season ends for BK to bolt for another job?

just imagine if you were FSU fans
But he CAN work with the players in the off-season, when coaches can't. The strength and conditioning coach is NOT the same as a regular coach in the NCAA's eyes. They're not a "countable coach."Right. Like an Offensive "Coordinator."
Whatever his title actually is, he has a position with the team under the oversight of the ncaa. He's an official staff member. Paul Longo can't loan kids money, give them rides, or contact recruits during dead periods.
During 8 designated weeks of voluntary summer conditioning activities, strength coaches may conduct strength and conditioning workouts for student-athletes. No countable coaches may be present and strength coaches may not report back to countable coaches. In addition, student-athletes may work out at their discretion outside the 8 hours per week. No countable or strength coaches can be involved with these workouts, except that strength coaches may monitor the facility for health and safety purposes.

I can't stand when people say 'I'm a huge CFB fan' and don't have a clue what's going on, or text me a day after something happens and are like 'did you hear'? Even worse when they say they're a 'huge ______' fan but cannot keep up with what's going on or what the starting lineup is like.
I don't care that they're not fans, just annoying when you have to talk for a minute to find out they're exaggerating their fanhood.
I think those types are much more typical than we are though... just my opinion.

Did anybody watch/listen to the presser live?
Without having to slog through, I was wondering what BK's tone was in terms of the "I was told it would be quick. That was Monday, it's now Thursday."
Was it pissy? Matter-of-fact? Depressed? Business-as-usual? Get-me-out-of-here?
Assuming this is true... what would prevent them from just clearing them now??
I'd say a slight tinge of annoyance.
All of these people have a point. Russell, Daniels, Mendoza... everyone.
To say "we have enough evidence to suspend you"... but not enough evidence to review your case... and then we can't fit you into our schedule for a week+... is absurd.
It's disrespectful to everyone involved in the University... from the players still enrolled going to class but can't play to the fans/alums who donate money to teachers teaching a bunch of kids in limbo to the University itself that is having its image irreparably harmed by this drawn out process.
Fire everyone.
"Some men in the Notre Dame administration just wanna watch the football world burn." - Alfred, probably
Considering this is the 83rd time it has been suggested, I don't think it's going to happen.
