There's no possible way it's one game. Golson was suspended the whole season for cheating and on top of that it's bribery. I wouldn't be surprised to see a differential in the suspensions though. Possibly a reason for DDs suspension. He could see a lighter suspension.

How so? The ND policy is a semester suspension for academic issues. Seems like it would be at least the same situation here.

I mean....I didn't go to ND so I can't be sure about this, but "academic issues" seems like a really broad concept. So every single thing that could qualify as an academic issue is met with the exact same response by the school? That doesn't make sense. Assuming there is some mechanism by which the punishments can be calibrated based on the seriousness of the misconduct, getting some help on a paper seems like a slap-on-the-wrist type of infraction that would more reasonably merit a game rather than a season. As far as the allegations that the players had "relations" with the tutor(s), that doesn't even register for me and I don't know why anyone would care about that. If it was consensual it is no concern of mine.

Part of me honestly thinks that they investigated this during the summer and were set to make the 1-game suspension announcement (as Keith Arnold heard), and now the story has blown up they might ramp up the punishment.
