Sounds like the Tar Heels will receive their discipline from the fake classes tomorrow at noon.

My guess: Butler is given the death penalty and North Carolina's scholarships are reduced by 1 or 2 for 2 years. Maybe a postseason ban

Being friends with a few diehard UNC fans, they are convinced that basketball and football will be mostly untouched by any penalties, and that women's basketball and other small sports will see the worst of the punishment.

So either UNC spent zero time defending other programs in order to make sure that men's basketball would be okay, or else they somehow successfully lobbied to have punishments pushed off onto certain programs.

Or, my friends are just tricking themselves into false hope, and UNC athletics as a whole get hammered.

Nothing. Just the old joke that the NCAA is so mad at a blue blood that they give a mid major massive sanctions

I'm dumb. Anyway, hopefully, UNC gets hammered -- especially their marquee sports. It'd be a crying shame if only the non-football/basketball sports got disciplined.

Slap on the wrist/stiff talking to/reprimand. The impotent ncaa will allow unc to successfully argue that they didn't violate any ncaa bylaws.

Most recent weather report looks nasty. I honestly don't care how much we win by. We have to escape this game with our guys healthy and a W in our back pocket heading into the bye week.

50% chance of late afternoon showers? Looks like scattered stuff if anything? Partly cloudy and upper 70s means shorts and don't need sunscreen. Put a poncho in your pocket even though you probably won't need it. Wear sandals so you don't have to dump rain out of your boots - this isn't South Bend 36 degrees and rain.

UNC fans are dumping tickets and kids on break - their turnout will be pretty horrible. Pretty much anyone I know with any interest in ND is taking the whole family to the game. We get a sprinkle before halftime and you will see that powder blue disappear in the second half.

Book is officially starting, in case any of you conspiracy buffs still held to hope for Wimbush.

Book's 7-on-7 coach inadvertently broke the news last night on twitter lol

I think book starting will be more effective than an injured wimbush starting. Book can run just as good as wimbush last week wimbush didn't really have any runs most likely because of the foot. I also wanna see how book does in the passing game he is really good between the 5-15 yard throws

If Book starting sticks and he plays the entire game I see him going 14-24 for 168 yds and 1 TD while adding 30 yds and a score on the ground.

I'll take the Irish to cover 38-16. I took the under at 62, since moved to 63. So maybe I don't know something.

Forecast has changed a bit. Still upper 70's / low 80's but now a chance of rain increasing in likelihood as the game progresses.

No, no he can't. Doesn't mean there won't be other positives but he is certainly not the runner Wimbush is.

sounds like a ground game-suits ND just fine.

Puts the game in a box though. The less talented team is always at a big advantage in weather affected games IMO.

Despite the ridiculous TO disparity, I'm still under the belief Clemson would have rolled us by a wider margin if the weather wasn't crap that night.

Really, that's interesting. I think the weather visibly affected our WR's substantially more. C Rob dropped two TD's and I believe there were other key drops on big plays. I came away thinking the opposite.

Understand, and remember other people sharing your sentiment.

What gets me, and is the tipping point, is the thinking some have that Clemson was basically unshackled simply because they didn't make as many mistakes as we did.

Regardless, gotta blow the doors off UNC today

Rain keeps the score down, and increases the likelihood of mistakes, both of which are an advantage to an underdog who wants to keep the game close. Especially an underdog at home.
That said, I like our running game, and our run defense to stop theirs. If we can move the ball on the ground here we should be fine.
