I feel like this game, and I guess to a certain extent the games against USC and Michigan, is going to be a real measuring stick for this program. Oklahoma just doesn't have off years and is always stacked. We compete against them, and I know I'll certainly feel that we're on the right track.

Moreover, I love that we schedule games like this. Recruits love getting amped for this schedule and it keeps players motivated. All the other power schools who schedule cupcakes all the time can suck it

The #2, ND, and #3, OU, All-Time Winning Percentage Programs.

Few fans realize that ND is 8-1 against OU All-Time. OU's worst record against an opponent they've played more than twice.

Even more amazing is which ND coaches have the wins.

Leahy 2-0, '52 (#10 ND v #4 OU) & '53 (#1 ND v #6 OU. OU went on a record 47 game winning streak after the ND lose.)

Brennan 1-1, '56 (L, NR ND v #2 OU) & '57 (W, NR ND v #2 OU ending OU's 47 game winning streak.)

Kuharich 2-0, '61 & '62

Parshegian 2-0, '66 (#1 ND v #10 OU) & '68 (#3 ND v #5 OU)

Davie 1-0, '99 (NR ND v #23 OU)

Kelly doesn't have to match the "Legends" just be as good as 3 guys that got sacked at ND.

Will be driving up from Dallas. Expect it to be the ABC prime time game, tough environment for any visitor.

It will be prime time somewhere for sure. ESPN had it as their #3 game of the year. We could have 5 prime time TV spots this year

They lost to Texas Tech last year in Norman, OK.....the first time they have lost at home since week one of 2005.

In fact from 2000-2011, they've only lost two games in Norman.

You heard it here first. We are going to shock the world and win this game by defending an OU drive in the final minutes to win 27-21.

“@SoonerScoop: Stoops clarified the suspensions. Kameel Jackson still on scholarship. Reynolds, Franks and Haynes not on scholarship, not in summer school.”

Oklahoma is either very good at home or very bad on the road.
OU football: Sooners best team at home, but is that a good thing? | NewsOK.com

Oklahoma has the No. 1 home-field advantage in college football, according to new research by PredictionMachine.com.

But, Sooner fans, before you get too excited, know that topping this list isn't necessarily meant to be a badge of honor.

Out of 120 FBS teams, defending national champion Alabama ranks 106th and LSU is 108th.

The rankings indicate the Sooners play much, much better at home than they do on the road, which is why teams like Alabama and LSU come in so low.

“Teams that are consistent national championship contenders should not be as susceptible to playing much better at home than on the road,” said Paul Bessire, the website's general manager. “If fans can accept the fact that Oklahoma is in the next tier of teams that is not consistently elite, but really good and reliant on a strong home-field advantage to maximize its talent, then it is should be a compliment to see the ranking that high.”

The analysis reviewed every FBS team's performance at home and on the road from 2000-2011, relative to what would be expected based on 50,000 simulations of each game on a neutral field.

Bessire said the reason OU tops the home-field advantage list is because there are several instances between 2000 and 2011 where the Sooners dominated games in Norman that should have been closer, and either lost or barely squeaked by on the road in games when they were, on paper, far superior.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners have football history, chance at redemption - ESPN

No program has had OU's number like Notre Dame. Not only did the Irish end Wilkinson's winning streak, they were the last to defeat the Sooners before the streak began in 1953.

Over the years, the Sooners have gone toe-to-toe with the best of college football, compiling winning records against the likes of Nebraska, Florida State and Alabama.

But all-time against Notre Dame, the Sooners are 1-8. Which only makes OU's Oct. 27 home date with the Irish even bigger.

Well at least we have history on our side! If Kelly could pull this one off he'll probably get another contract extension.Should that even be in italics?

I'm from Oklahoma, and I'll be flying down for this game.

Not only has Bob Stoops lost just 3 games at home, those 3 games were to a bad 2001 Oklahoma State team, an under the radar 2005 season opener against TCU, and to last year's subpar Texas Tech team. Good teams, on the other hand, always get demolished by a jacked up OU team; hence, why Texas Tech won last year but got pummeled 65-21 in 2008 when they were ranked #2.

It's almost impossible to beat Bob Stoops in Norman unless you fly under the radar, and good or bad, Notre Dame NEVER flies under the radar.

All that being said: ND-52, OU-6.

It would take Notre Dame damn near a decade to shake off a 65-21 beat down like that. Jesus Christ!

I'm not worried about this game being a blow out. As long as ND can run the ball and not turn it over it should be a single digit game. Landri Jones is very overrated without Broyles.
