At least we aren't the only program with crazy fans with crazy expectations. They want to get rid of Stoops? One NC, four NC game appearances??
I think the most you can ask for is a coach who makes you a serious national championship contender every year, a rebuilding year here or there aside. Stoops has clearly done that. This year, he's been undone by injuries and turmoil on the O-line and poor play from a great QB. Not his fault.
And don't tell me that NC contention is not enough, and you shouldn't be satisfied with your coach unless he has built the kind of powerhouse that Alabama is, so Stoops' run of NC game losses is enough to can him. Sorry, but Saban is not the standard, he's an exception ... that's a great college coach with unlimited support from a football-crazy university, which happens to be a university that is an attractive home to practically any type of recruit: the one who wants hot southern girls and great partying, the one who grew up in the South and wants to stay close to home, the one who wants to play serious football without working hard academically,
the one who wants to play serious football while working hard academically, the one who wants to play serious football at a place with great football tradition ... Oklahoma has some of those advantages but not all of them.
