daaaammmmmnnnnnnn Etienne
What in the holy F is he doing. In terms of 2019 RBs, he was the biggest "freakshow".
Outside of Lawrence he's by far my #1 concern. I'd rather have Tee Higgins back in a heartbeat.

ACC schedule is out... Clemson has a bye week before our game. http://theacc.com/news/2020/1/21/acc-announces-2020-football-schedule.aspx
Explain how this is the ACC's fault. Should they force their FULL-TIME members not to take byes the week before playing us?Of course they do. Thanks ACC!
Appreciate the bowl game too.
Yea explain Koon! You can’t just say “thanks ACC” and not expect to have to defend yourself!!!Explain how this is the ACC's fault. Should they force their FULL-TIME members not to take byes the week before playing us?

Why exactly is ND halfway in bed with the ACC?
I was all in favor of staying independent personally, but in today's landscape it makes more sense to just join the ACC fully. The arrangement was originally a deal to give a new home to our other sports like Basketball, Lacross, etc. Then we kept Hockey in the B1G, which is more competitive than the ACC in that sport. Then we kept Football semi-independent still. Given the recent changes with the TV deals, the NBC contract isn't the only one anymore. It's attractive because it reaches everyone, but otherwise it's lackluster.
When it comes down to it joining the ACC completely makes more sense. It actually gives us an easier path to the playoff each season (11-1 it's no guarantee we make it to the playoff, but 11-1 plus an upset of Clemson in the conference championship is a guarantee every time). While Clemson would be a possible obstacle every season under that model, if we can't beat Clemson in a given season then we're not going to win the playoff period. Upsetting Clemson would almost guarantee a spot though, unless we have 2 or more losses in which case we don't belong anyway. Playing for a Conference Championship gives our players something else to play for too. It gives us a bigger bowl selection which helps in both recruiting and general perception. Adding Notre Dame as a full member also strengthens the ACC as a whole making the conference more legitimate.
What's the downside? It limits the schedule a bit, we may have to drop a traditional rival. We can have four out of conference games though, so that can leave USC, Stanford, Navy, and one other. That's a pretty strong schedule, especially if there's a possibility to add Clemson in a Conference Championship. I don't see a lot of other downsides. Recruiting should still be strong, we still have a reach in to California and we can include occasional games with Texas schools. We'll have a stronger presence in Florida schools too.
Is there a reason why the Irish would not consider joining the B1G at some point? The way the upcoming tv deals are playing out, it appears the SEC and the B1G are going to have the market cornered for CFB.

I'd like to think Jack is making notes of this BYE week disadvantage, along with the bowl tie in, and the money in the BIG 10 and will have great leveraging ability when we're "free" again.
If he's not, he's insubordinate.
