Here's one: BYU actually isn't that good. They have one decent win over Texas in Provo, and that was due to a complete defensive-scheme brain fart. They struggled to beat Houston and lost to Virginia and Utah. Unless you think Georgia Tech is a great team, I just don't see why there's all this trepidation.
I would feel VERY confident in this game if our D was healthy and we had good conditions to throw the ball. I 100% agree with you, BYU is nothing special. They have a dynamic running QB who is worse than Taylor Kelly, 1 NFL caliber skill position player, and Van Noy. That's it.
Sadly, I'm not convinced we can stop the run or that we will be able to consistently move the ball without a vertical passing game. Just seems like everything is adding up to a worst case scenario for ND... which I guess kind of applies to the entire 2013 season which has been filled with bad fortune since the moment the offseason started.
The worst part? I'm going to hang out with a bunch of Mormons tomorrow. Please lord let us find a way to pull this thing out.
