This is not a very good FSU team, and that's as nice as I can put it. Jimbo left the Offensive Line pretty bare, but Taggart has not done anything to help. Go bang your head into a brick wall for 5 hours each Saturday and that's our offense.

The ND game will be similar to the Clemson game and the second half of the Miami where we had 31 rushing yards in 6 quarters.

Where's a good place in South Bend to get a drink and something to eat pregame? Will probably be the highlight of our trip.

I'm a big fan of tailgating around campus myself, but if that's not in the cards for you, head to Legends. It's literally in the parking lot outside the stadium, so you can grab a bite and a few cold ones and not be too far removed from the heart of the action.

Not sure when you're coming in, but make sure you make it around campus. Anyone on campus can direct you to the following:

Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Golden Dome/Main Building
The Grotto
St. Joseph Lake

Take it all in, enjoy a nice walk, layer up. Seem like you're a humble enough dude; ND fans will treat visitors like royalty when you're respectful and show earnest in campus. You might even be lucky enough to be invited to a tailgate if you find the right group and strike the right conversation.

Enjoy.

You might want to go directly to the grotto, light a candle and say a prayer. Looks like your team needs all the help it can get.

You can probably get food and drink from anyone tailgating. When they see your FSU gear they'll probably invite you over. Irish fans are very welcoming and accommodating.

First of all if you sell tickets to anyone from the opposition I hope your car breaks down ----and this is the game that concerns me-these guys are big and talented even though they are not very well lead--they can be The Irish.

Pre-season, the University probably had this priced right, considering the 25 year anniversary, night game, senior day, and just the two brands on the field alone.

Now, jeeze that's steep for a crappy team coming to town.

So my Mom just got back from 10 days with the Red Cross helping Floridians and she's got a FSU blanket draped over her arms. I commented that she's bringing enemy colors, but she gets a pass because it's under the guise of helping those in need.

No problem. My daughter in law is still down there working and she's got things under control.

The Nole faithful down here have begun to accept how bad they really are. The Clemson game really put things on perspective for them.

I’m sure you meant to say they can “beat” the Irish, but that all also describes how it’s been to “be” the Irish for too much of the last 20 years.

Either way I agree this is not a game to take lightly. Hope for cold weather. Score early and often. Give them no mistakes or easy points. Because knocking us out would be the highlight - by far - of their season and they’re certainly talented enough to do it.

Right now it appears that NEXT Sat., has it partly cloudy with a high in low 40's and dipping to 30 over night in SB. Not necessarily good for tailgating folks, but SHOULD bold well for the Irish players over a "broken" warm-weather F$U team! Get 'em down early and embarrass their azz!

I remember the day vividly. I was in college. A bunch of fraternity brothers & me were watching it at a duplex I lived next door to. It was me vs everyone else. I was the lone ND fan. Of course I owned a “Catholics vs Creminoles” t-shirt to go along w/ my “Catholics vs Convicts” tee.

FSU was the “Flavor of the Week” by then much like Miami was before them. They were a flashy team in NC contention every season. So while most of my buddies were Razorback fans first, they liked FSU & hated ND for the most part. It was hyped as one of the many “Game of the Century” we often hear about (much better than LSU/Bama last evening).

Most expected the Noles to roll w/ their Heisman candidate QB and athletic defense. I remember FSU wearing Kelly green hats w/ gold FSU logo as they got off the bus. Then ND hit them in the mouth and pretty much controlled the game the entire day. It definitely wasn’t as close as the final score. We all know what happened the following week.

To this day, I can’t imagine any other team not being voted a share of the NC but this was ND & Bowden was the media darling who was long overdue for his first title. ND beat TAMU in the Sugar Bowl & FSU barely beat Nebraska in their bowl. FSU was voted the outright NC the following day. That’s the closest ND has been to claiming another title (I think some obscure poll awarded ND the NC that year). Holtz would only coach three more seasons.

Here’s the intro to that game on NBC w/ Bob Costas narrarating.

Friday and Saturday are going to be the coldest days of the year; WSBT and WNDU have similar forecasts for the weekend I was really hoping this was going to be the case when I saw that a team from the south was visiting South Bend in November.

When's the last time ND played well on Senior Day?

2015 ND 28 WF 7
2013 ND 23 BYU 13 (not great but BYU was pretty damn good under Mendenhall)
2012 ND 38 WF 0
2010 ND 28 Utah 3

Last couple years haven’t been great. Under Kelly they’ve played a couple of good solid games, but many times they’ve played down to their level of competition. Hopefully they put their foot on FSU’s throat and keep it there for 60 minutes. Would love to see Wimbush get some burn in the second half.
