2012 and 2014 were very wet games. When it rains in November in South Bend, chances are it'll be no higher than 40 degrees.

I was actually just thinking about this last night. FSU's roster is probably filled with at least 85% kids that are from the south. Chances are the game in South Bend will be the coldest game they've ever played in. Getting tackled in the cold hurts a lot more than when its 80 degrees.

FSU fans are already pissed. It's not like they were championship material in the first place.

Yeah idk about 30, might be a slight exaggeration, but I was at the NC St game in mid November last year, and it was when the warm weather finally broke (we had it in the 70's for just about the first two weeks of October). It was a high of 44 and wind/rain all day for that game against the wolfpack, and it sure did feel like it was 20 degrees after all of that warm weather. So, to his memory, it probably felt like 30.

After watching the Seminoles play the Hokies the other night, I feel much better about this match up. I think we will play them hard and be ready when they come. As mentioned earlier, the weather may be the coldest for most of their players and something they are not used to.

I am lower on FSU overall, but higher on Francois after last night. If he gets help he'll be lethal.

FSU could be winless going into our game and I would still be concerned. They have talent all over the field and we could be their Super Bowl. Getting destroyed at home like that hopefully puts them into a tailspin though. Screw those guys.

However, for our sake - much better to have that result reversed and some wind out of VT's sails. That place will be rocking when we come to town. Rather play undefeated FSU at home than undefeated VT on the road.

I feel the opposite. The Irish should handle Ball State, Vandy, and Wake just fine. And if the Irish clobber Stanford, they will go into Blacksburg with serious momentum. VT could be undefeated too, which would probably put ND in the top five in the rankings with a win. Besides, VT isn't really playing anyone up to that point, so they aren't going to be challenged to the level that ND will play them.

I'd rather FSU be mediocre when the Irish get them in week 10. Hopefully, our boys will be undefeated and in the playoff hunt. If they aren't, even being a 0 or 1 loss team, the Irish end the season with USC which is always a statement win even if the Trojans are down on their luck. And Notre Dame is going to more banged up in week 10 than in week 6, so give me the stronger team earlier on when the team is less worn down.

Cumulative effect of the season - don't like playing anyone worth a squat after Stanford. I look at this similar to playing Northwestern after Navy. In isolation - I favor us pretty strongly in all of the above. In sequence - high probability we lose one of those.

Sprinkle in some Miami PTSD and let's say I have concerns we perform on the road here.

Florida State is now 10-11 in its last 21 ACC games. And 3-6 in its last nine. (h/t) @Corey_Clark

The guy has serious talent and can make throws most QBs in college can't. His problem seems to be an OL that can't block their own shadow.

Sad I'm more worried about the cuse game now than this game, I think we blow out FSU at Notre Dame in Nov I hope it's a bone chilling 30 degree day

Florida State is garbage. Some say I overreacted saying their HC hire was bad from the start, I'm even more confident about that now.

There's another gif from the Cuse game floating around where the RT does the same whiff, but I can't find it atm.

Their OL is incredibly bad. I might try to go to the Clemson game because that will be some serious shit.

The OL was trash last year too. I can't blame Taggart fully for it. That said, as a new HC you have got to make some kind of improvement coming in with that unit...

No doubt. I don't think anyone in the right state of mind would argue against Willie Taggert being a step down from Jimbo Fisher.

Taggert is largely unproven. He put together a solid couple of years at USF, but it's not like he was mind-blowing in one season in Eugene. The whole situation was kind of weird, but I don't think he lasts 3 seasons in Tallahassee.
