You can’t be serious?
Eh. Freeman supposedly wants a OL-driven, run-first offense. Chryst also has a lot of head coaching experience, which would be valuable especially if Golden also departs. He's not at all sexy, and he wouldn't be at the top of my list, but they could do worse.

Why the Weis Jr. hate? He's been spoken of highly by many. If he was so bad at South Florida why did Kiffin bring him to Ole Miss? He's been on Kiffin's staff for the last 2 stops, he's also been an Offensive Analyst for Alabama and the Atlanta Falcons.

I'm not saying I want him, just pushing against the narrative. Ole Miss was 13th in Offensive FEI last season, 14th the year before.

[EDIT] My bad, Jr. didn't join Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss till last season. He stayed on at South Florida for a bit.

Way too many question marks, especially when I don’t think Kiffen is holding a play sheet on the sidelines for the hell of it. I would not be comfortable with that hire, doubt MF would be either.

I think we need more experience than that
I don't know. He's been an excellent QB coach in college and now for the Eagles. He was OC at Utah, Houston, then Florida. He's also coached under some successful and diverse HC's.

How tight is Freeman with Harry Hiestand then?? Not out of the realm of possibility.

I think Joe Brady would be a good hire. He has work Joe and Josh. Would he leave Buffalo?

Let's hope Freeman's youth and inexperience doesn't work against him here. While he made some good hires to the staff last year, the jury is still very much out on a couple. Other than Stuckey, he basically dipped into his familiar, limited contacts to fill out the staff. Promoting Parker to OC would be a good example of his inexperience winning. It may be the easiest and most comfortable decision, but probably not the best. Let's hope his mantra of "challenge everything" is followed.

Not sure if anybody knows what his board looks like. Of all the names being mentioned, Brady seems like the only sure bet, home run hire. But Brady's also made it clear he doesn't like recruiting, aka coaching college. Would it he take a talented ND offense as the for sure Alpha play caller for a year to bolster his NFL aspirations a year later? Yeah, perhaps. He parlayed his 1 year stint as CO-OC at stacked lsu into a promotion. Maybe he'd do it again.

Moorehead would be good and possibly great.

Brian Johnson definitely seems intriguing.

Hard pass on the lazy-ass reporting names like Chryst, Longo, Weis Jr.

I don't know how close MF and Mike Vrabel actually are, but could that get him access to some BoB/Arthur Smith understudies?

Does Golden have any pull with any Zac Taylor understudies to get a phone call?

I wouldn't be pissed if MF went after somebody from the Andy Reid or Kyle Shanahan QB coaching tree. Owners in the NFL have had success doing it.

With the way recruiting goes, he's gotta hire a guy who will resonate with Hartman and Carr.

Rack Em's mom is only in line for a promotion to train conductor. So she's out of the running as next ND OC.

Joe Brady hated being a college coach, my guess is it won’t happen with him

Not really imo. Had his career served up on a silver platter and was atrocious at South Florida.
Yeah that's the one stop it didn't sound like he did as well, but he seems to excel under Kiffin (at FAU and now not bad at Ole Miss - I thought I read they finished #8 offense in '22). Does he even want to come to ND the way pops went out and had to endure a lot of nasty fan shit at the end?

I mentioned before, if because of time of year and not much availability, how about Jim Svoboda Doing what he loves: new Tulane offensive coordinator Jim Svoboda happy to concentrate on one thing, who is no longer Tulane OC? Not sure why he left (or forced out), but apparently he inherited a 2-10 Fritz-led team after Chip Long left as OC and the '22 team only had one player exit via the portal. So pretty much the same 2-10 team including Pratt. Not sure how much play scheming/calling he was actually doing (or how he is as recruiter), but as we all know, they finished strong (12-2) and beat USC in bowl game and Pratt had a great year. He was a Broyles Award finalist in 2005 as UCLA QB coach, but then sucked as OC for them the next year and Dorrell canned him. So he has long QB coaching and OC and (some successful) head coach experience. A lot of questions but he was OC for Tulane for one of CFB's biggest season turnarounds ever and Tulane, their offense and Pratt all looked damn good at the end of the year!

It is when my mom is working. All her boyfriends told me they go there for the prime meat!
Your mom is the equivalent of the imitation bacon bits on the Perkins salad bar. Don’t kid yourself.
